The Concrete Runner: 08.2010

Vanilla in the moonlight. I must admit, I really wasn't looking forward to trying Vanilla Moon. Obviously, I was not too excited to visit. But, we were in the area visiting my Grampa, so it only felt appropriate that we stop by and try it out, especially since we haven't tried something new in awhile. I was definitely not disappointed! I still wasn't a big fan of the chocolate syrup [it would've probably been better in chocolate custard and without the syrupy stuff], but the brownies were fabulous! Matt ...

The Concrete Runner: 10.2010
http://theconcreterunner.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Yeah, that’s right…. I’m a cheater. I cheated on my beloved frozen custard for something new sexy in the “ice cream” world. But, first, the Hubs owed me a date since I spent most of my birthday evening alone, and I requested pizza. But not just any ol’ pizza…. Only the best pizza place out there! And we are so fortunate to have several establishments in the St. Louis area! Started dinner off with an O’Fallon Wheach. Then we headed to a place I have been dying to try since it opened up this summer. I thin...

The Concrete Runner: 07.2010
http://theconcreterunner.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
After our Gulf Coast plans were ruined by oil and a sick grandpa, we decided we would head down to Matt's favorite place in the world - Branson. Yes, we have already gone once, but we figured another trip down wouldn't hurt! We typically go 3-4 times a year. we have already made it down 4 times, and will go at least 2 more time this year! On our quest to discover new frozen custard places, we did our research ahead of time and discovered there was another frozen custard "stand" besides Andy's. Mine was a...

The Concrete Runner: closing time
http://theconcreterunner.blogspot.com/2010/12/closing-time.html
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Also, unfortunately, this includes frozen custard. Well, not for good, but just for the season. With the range of hot humid in the summer to bitterly cold in the winter, St. Louis doesn’t exactly provide the best climate for frozen custard stands to stay open year round. Of course, there are those few stands that do stay open year round because they serve indoors, but the classics ( Ted Drewes. And don’t worry, there are still a few stands that wi...

Just a Missouri girl's journey through life, love and faith. I am feminist, hear me roar. March 9, 2017. March 9, 2017. I tried to write this post several times, and each time I couldn’t quite put together all the thoughts I had in my head. The first time I attempted this post, I wrote this:. Jan 9, 2017:. So I’m going to focus on the good, because that’s all I can do. That’s all any of us can do, because what’s the point of dwelling on the past, right? Jan 20, 2017:.
