Recently, a San Francisco bartender was assaulted with a hammer by an Uber driver and woke up in the hospital. Saturday I went to a memorial service for the elderly lady I knew who passed away recently. It was held at what used to be her house. (Her granddaughter lives there now.). It took me a little bit, but I started recognizing people. I hadn't seen most of them for a long time. It was nice to be recognized. Nice to feel like there were some people who thought I held a special place.
