Note: For plain crumpets, leave out the cinnamon). 250ml (1 cup) cake flour (140g). 10ml (2 teaspoons) baking powder. 1ml (1/5 teaspoon) salt. 30ml (6 teaspoons) sugar. 200ml (4/5 cup) milk. 15ml (3 teaspoons) margarine, melted. 5ml (1 teaspoon) cinnamon (optional). Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together. Add sugar. Beat the egg, milk and melted margarine together and add to dry ingredients.

Trying to live as lightly as possible on our beautiful planet. Wouldn’t this be a nice entrance to one’s home…or maybe it’s a bit too pretentious for a country cottage! This is the old entrance to Kilronan Castle just outside the village of Keadue in County Roscommon. It was here we met today for the second Bards in the Woods of the year. The first was last week at Hazelwood near Sligo but I didn’t get to that one. The castle has a new lease of life now as a popular hotel. A lovely Sunday in the woods!

Sunday, July 12, 2015. I recently finished a quilt that has been on my list for quite some time. I finally bit the bullet, forked over the cash for fancy true nfl fabric and got it started. I just did a simple middle with the Seahawks logo fabric and just put a simple border on it. Then I just put it on my quilt machine and I quilted it. I even let the boys help a little bit.,.
