Barrika is notable for the Palaeolithic deposit which has been found in its surrounding areas. This is located in the Kurtzio mountain and it has an antiquity of 80.000 years, which turns it into the only case into the whole Cantabrian cornice. This deposit fits with a outdoor workshop of silex without a specific location and knifes and scrapers have been found.
