August 13, 2015. In the deepest parts of who I am I have always had a sense that I’m broken. I was never enough. I was always the wrong thing. Not thin enough; not pretty enough; not outgoing enough. And what I was just wasn’t right. I was too sensitive; too emotional; too idealistic; too passive. I’m still me, just one that was chained down by all these unseen rules and expectations that were imposed on me. Ones that I accepted. Chains of insecurity and doubt and shame. It was like the chains fell away.
