Tuesday, 11 August 2009. The knitting went too! So, what knitting went on during our trip north? For 'travel' knitting there was Mr J's 'Highland Socks'. Of 'Monkey Socks' using invisible 'make stitches' instead of yarn overs, for a more masculine sock. I used the prescribed 80 stitch cast yarn, but I this made for quite a baggy sock (he HAS got fairly skinny and very long pins! For my 'major' project, may I introduce ' Heartland'. The pattern is by Evelyn Clarke and is beautiful! The yarn is Kuani.

Monday, 19 January 2009. I am pretty pleased with my lightweight Hemlock Ring. Throw It is knitted in 21st century yarns. Son and heir rang today! Totally excited by an awesome day playing in 2ft of fresh powder snow! We had ten minutes of sleet! Its damp and raw cold NOT fun cold up here 'On the Hill'! Saturday, 17 January 2009. The next 6 weeks is preparation for the much more demanding Alpine 2 qualification that he will take at the end of the course. Saturday, 10 January 2009. Christmas and some more.

Take a skein of bulky yarn ( 7wpi) & circular 6mm needles. I used Symfoni Love Garn, and just needed to start a second skein to get the depth I required, which was 10 inches. Books I'm reading 2008. Books I'm reading 2007. Saturday, January 26, 2008. Another FO for January:-) This time the Ribbed shrug form issue 3 of Yarn Forward magazine! I used Rowan Plaid rather than chunky print as suggested by the pattern, but only as I had the plaid in stash. Its nice yarn, very snuggly and warm:-) I dropped down to 8mm and 6mm needles to allow for the differance in yarn, the tension of the Plaid and the chunky print are the same, but on differing needle sizes. Queen of the froggers.
