The individualist vs the collectivist way to understanding culture. On October 16, 2010 · Leave a Comment. Essentially, I would like to think that these are two extremities. A country cannot do well if its embraces a individualist only culture, nor a collectivist only culture. The need to sieve out the best of both extremities is very important, like in the case of Singapore. What do you guys think? To be extreme or not to be? If so, which culture would you rather embrace and lead your life?
