Then they usually respond, "Oh, L.A. huh? Followed by some sort of deprecating remark about southern California. I cringe when they say, "L.A". I don't know why. I remember in college a frat "bro" once saying that he would NEVER call his Fraternity a "Frat" in the same manner that he would never call his House a "Ho".
