In the same vein that some people follow a band on tour or subscribe to season tickets, I enjoy attending international gatherings of sign language users. In the summer of 1997, between my first and second year of the Ohlone College Interpreter Preparation Program. I ended a month-long backpacking trip around Europe interpreting at the World Games for the Deaf. In 2002, I eagerly attended the World Symposium for Sign Language Interpreters.
