The Muddle in the Middle: Thoughts on Missionary Work
http://themuddleinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2013/06/thoughts-on-missionary-work.html
The Muddle in the Middle. Monday, June 3, 2013. Thoughts on Missionary Work. Sorry for the long leave of absence.is anyone still out there? I decided to try writing again because I love it and miss it. And then our daughter. And then another son. And then probably a son or daughter every few years for a long time. That thought makes me so sad, and I have wondered how I will be able to do it. To be perfectly honest, I started to feel pretty sorry for myself over the whole situation. Where can we help?

The Muddle in the Middle: October 2011
http://themuddleinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
The Muddle in the Middle. Friday, October 7, 2011. Redfern twins and the bother of parenting. Today, my oldest niece gave birth to twin baby boys. The text came in around 6 am telling us that Albus and Jimmer were here. My husband's reaction: "Jimmer? The next text came several minutes later. "Just kidding. We couldn't resist." They really named the boys Christian and Connor. 6 lb. 4 oz and 5 lb 14 oz, respectively, mother and babies all doing well. Life is so much more fun and sweet and full because, 17...

The Muddle in the Middle: June 2011
http://themuddleinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
The Muddle in the Middle. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Long suffering- even during summer vacation. For the past week and a half since school got out, I have found myself getting more and more snippety every day. I think it’s having so many bodies home again all the time. It’s that many more children leaving messes and dragging their feet about breakfast chores. It’s that many more people making food, again, and leaving their 3rd cup on the counter, half-way full of milk. Then I read this scripture. 1 Neph...

The Muddle in the Middle: May 2011
http://themuddleinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
The Muddle in the Middle. Monday, May 23, 2011. Another Lesson about Mercy. Last week, I was studying the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15. I noticed while studying it that both the prodigal son and the older, righteous brother feel that the sins of the younger son are so great that he doesn't deserve any mercy. I recognized from this parable my inclination to think that we need to 'deserve' mercy and earn it, rather than be given it as a gift from a loving Heavenly Father and His Son. It was very cl...

The Muddle in the Middle: Hard
http://themuddleinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2013/07/hard.html
The Muddle in the Middle. Friday, July 12, 2013. From June of 1990 until December of 1991, I served an LDS mission in southern France (similar geographical location to where Jacob will be). That was 23 years ago. I remember a lot of things I loved about France. I could go on and on. But my biggest memory of missionary work in France. Is full of her cute personality. (She could be Katie's companion! She could be Katie's trainer. Blog post and this. In hindsight, I am so grateful I served a mission for so ...

Meet the Pete's: December 2013
http://scottandoakleypeterson.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. Our family of four. Welles is a dream baby! He gives me butterflies! It's going to be hard not to give in. He's much too sweet not to spoil. And I'm pretty sure he will stay that way:). Scarlett is doing GREAT with her little "bwudder". She adores him. Every morning when I go get her from her crib, she runs into our room and over to the bed and says "Good morning bwudder! Makes you wonder how much time she spends in the corner, huh? Bullets since Welles has been home;. It's bee...

Meet the Pete's: June 2012

Wednesday, June 20, 2012. These check-ups are never fun. Especially when your baby is teething and already grumpy. Every mother hates when her baby has to get shots. Worst thing ever! Her stats say she is in the 50th percentile for weight, 60th for height and 70th for head. Weird cause everyone always says how small her head is. I kind of wonder if they got it wrong? Anyways, she is just shy of 16 LBS. My girl is getting big! Before we went she was happily chewing on her caterpillar. In Orem every year t...

Ironman Woman: November 2013
http://theironmanwoman.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 14, 2013. When I first decided for sure I was heading to Argentina I didn’t think that I would worry too much about leaving my husband. Don’t get me wrong, I love him dearly and I would HATE it if he left me for 10 days, but I thought it would be easy on my end. But the last week it has kicked in and I am so sad knowing that in less then 5 hours I am leaving him for 10 days. I don’t really know how people do it so much and so often. I gave this to him last night and then asked him to a...
