From Seed To Table. Keeping track of my edible garden. 2016 Sowing and Planting. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Bed #3 Retrospective For 2014. I was hoping to get all my 2014 evaluations done before the end of January but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Anyway, here's a look back at another of my 4 huge raised beds. In case you haven't noticed I'm not doing them in order, I've covered #4, #2, and now I'm on to #3. January 14, 2014. By the end of April the wheat patch is looking a bit sad, ther...

From Seed To Table. Keeping track of my edible garden. 2016 Sowing and Planting. Thursday, May 28, 2015. A Proper Diagnosis for my Pepper Problems? I think, I hope, that I've finally solved the mystery of what has been infecting my pepper plants. My poor plants suffer every year. They develop wrinkly stunted leaves and I always think that I'm going to have a crappy year for peppers. I searched the UC IPM. But I couldn't get the idea out of my head. So I went ahead and just did a general web search fo...

Rosso Dolce Appendere, Yummy Belle, Padron, Craig's Grande Jalapeño, Sonora Anaheim. New crop Purgatory Beans! I've been harvesting the Tromba D'Albenga squash a bit large. The larger ones are perfect for making Zucchini Sott'Olio and the firm flesh of the large ones are also great for stews like the posole stew I mentioned before. Green Fingers and Tasty Treat.

From Seed To Table. Keeping track of my edible garden. 2016 Sowing and Planting. Monday, March 30, 2015. Harvest Monday - March 30, 2015. The garden gave up another big chunk of the overwintered vegetables last week. The remaining celery plants were putting their energy into producing big fat flower stalks so out they came. I used most of one head in a simple braise topped with cheese, the rest of the celery has for the most part ended up in salads. The celeriac was pushing up petite little flower stalks.

Hello again from Eight Gate Farm! This week we are continuing to pick baby mesclun- enough for a nice salad every other day or so. Madam Tulip: Август 2014
http://madamtulip.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Eight Gate Farm - New Hampshire. A lifelong ambition to have a "gentleman's farm" fulfilled.one unplanned expense at a time! About Eight Gate Farm. I'm at war. It is an alien invasion. I'm fighting the aliens. You should be too. My property is at risk of becoming alien territory. Already they have made many inroads, and some seem unstoppable. Dare I suggest climate change? Or perhaps once they reach a certain critical population level they multiply exponentially? Yet even if I manage to get it under cont...

From Seed To Table. Keeping track of my edible garden. Monday, March 26, 2018. Harvest Monday - March 26, 2018. I had made the dish once before and found the anchovy vinaigrette to be a bit blah so this time around I used an assertive Caesar dressing and also gave the stems a liberal sprinkling of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. It was delicious. Special Baby Leaf Chard. Little Jade Napa Cabbage. And finally one more harvest of snow peas, this time a full 1 1/2 pounds. I think that production has hit...
