From Somerset to Kathmandu: June 2012

http://fromsomersettokathmandu.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

From Somerset to Kathmandu. Saturday, June 23, 2012. Yesterday I took the early microbus to Swayambhunath Temple (also called the Monkey Temple on account of the amount of monkeys that frequent this area). Not knowing my way about I took the western staircase up rather than the steeper but far more atmospheric eastern way. Nothing could have prepared me for the sheer scale and majesty of the stupa when I reached the top. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. SOME OF THE DOWNSIDES (AND UPSIDES). It's vital, for the s...

From Somerset to Kathmandu: ARRIVING IN NEPAL AND ROOFTOP OF MANDO'S HOUSE

http://fromsomersettokathmandu.blogspot.com/2012/06/arriving-in-nepal-and-rooftop-of-mandos.html

From Somerset to Kathmandu. Monday, June 18, 2012. ARRIVING IN NEPAL AND ROOFTOP OF MANDO'S HOUSE. The perfect way to start a morning is standing on the rooftop, prayer flags flying, watching the clouds blanketing the mountains and, sometimes, an eagle lazily circling. There's been a long-running battle between the camera package I installed and Blogger but I think I've finally won! Not a big dog but feisty and very strong! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From Somerset to Kathmandu: TEACHING IN BUDHANILKANTHA

http://fromsomersettokathmandu.blogspot.com/2012/06/teaching-in-budhanilkantha.html

From Somerset to Kathmandu. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Those 2 days a week are all they have. He told me that so long as they're not playing in such a way that they could get hurt then they're left to have fun. Yes, but what about the times when they're sick or hurt or have nightmares? As a mother my heart aches for them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SOME OF THE DOWNSIDES (AND UPSIDES). ARRIVING IN NEPAL AND ROOFTOP OF MANDOS HOUSE. A Little Retail Therapy. Having been here nearly a month and a half I decided to take a long weekend and go down to Chitwan (organised by the excellent Adrift Adventures company (. When told we actually had to sit on the edge my reaction was "you want me to do what? A 5 minute run down on paddling techniques and we were on our way and very quickly into the rapids. From Somewhere In My Mind

From Somewhere In My Mind. Thursday, February 21, 2013. Is experiencing God a sign of maturity? I think most believers would say that they desire at some level to experience God. They may call it weird or at least think that its unattainable, you know. only for the really spiritual. But I think if I sat down with the average Christian over coffee and really got down to it, they would say something like, "If it’s real, and if it’s possible I'd like to experience God". What would you say? I was blown away ...
