What causes two different people from Wisconsin and Iowa to desire to embark on a two year world bike adventure? These thoughts hadn't entered their minds until:. It was when her fiancé died from cancer at the young age of 21. She made a goal to live her life for two and to not look back on life with any regrets. Many people ask, how did they plan for a trip like this? Others ask, are they retiring? They like to call it a sabbatical, and will rejoin the workforce when they return in 2009 (or perhaps 2010).

Our route timeline is going to be quite flexible and basic. We have certain rules and variables that can affect our travels. 1) Must be safe. 2) Must be above 50 degrees (this rule was broken many times so we changed it to 40 degrees and made it a guideline rather than a rule! 3) Must not be raining (I guess Ireland is out).
