Well, today is my birthday. And not just any birthday. Today I turn 40. Since 40 is a bit of a "milestone" for most people, I've decided to make it an important year for me. So I have compiled a list of the 40 things I am aiming to do. By the grace of God, I hope to complete all of these by Feb. 28, 2014.

Thoughts from the Birdnest. The posts below are automatically imported. To see this blog correctly, head over to http:/ erinbird.posterous.com. Thursday, November 01, 2012. This past week, my awesome wife and I got to spend a couple of days praying, resting, learning, eating, and playing with other church planters from the Minnesota/Iowa district of Converge. One of the "play" events we got to do was go down a zip line. It was a ton of fun (despite the look on my face)! See the full gallery on Posterous.

from the big table
From the big table". A spirit of culture and commerce in the heart of dixie. From the Big Table. Or possibly a row of vendors peddling spools of cotton candy, funnel cakes and all things deep fried? Games with riffles that shoot, rings to toss, or balloons to fill by spewing water into a clown’s mouth? But, in fact, we later learned we had not been to the Alabama State Fair. What we had enjoyed that hot August day was actually an Alabama National Fair. The Space and Rocket Center. As our brave troops wer...

A view from the bin
A view from the bin. Wednesday, 28 February 2007. South Africa - Part III. Of their rootstock; the unique micro-climate that wrapped their fields like a duvet; the extraordinary spon...

The Making of a Leader by Robert Clinton. After LeAnn and I emerged from Converge’s Church Planter Assessment. One of the recommendations I received was to read The Making of a Leader by Dr. J. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. It starts right in the middle school time when a child identifies his passion for cars, his admiration for a cricket player or a singer, his interests in painting etc. But how many of these children end up becoming racing car drivers, cricketers, singers or painters? Unfortunately, very few! Saturday, July 4, 2009. Just came back from a movie theater here in London that played Kambaqt Ishq. But definitely a good watch for the stunts, beauty and the Hollywood. About this London c...
