The Detroit Times: September 2011
http://fromthekage.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Dining in the D: Shepherd's Pie at the Grand Trunk Pub. The Grand Trunk Pub. Might be more known for its huge selection of brews, but there's one menu item you've got to try the next time you're down on Woodward at lunch time. We never pass up the chance to indulge in a bowl of the Trunk's Shepherd's Pie, a heaping helping of mashed potatoes, corn and seasoned beef topped with a thin layer of cheese. It's good eatin'. The Detroit Times: Comerica Park's Cobb Statue Honors a Legend
http://fromthekage.blogspot.com/2012/05/comerica-parks-cobb-statue-honors.html
Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Comerica Park's Cobb Statue Honors a Legend. Sure, Verlander's arm and a couple of choice hits from Dirks had something to do with it. But no doubt a little DT Love went a long way in helping the Tigers beat the Mariners last night. With that, we continue the magic. Chatting about who should be next. Karl Z. posed that question to Facebook users, who had some interesting responses. Lolich? Whitaker and Tram, perhaps? Wednesday, May 09, 2012. Times Files: Detroit sports. In the wak...

The Detroit Times: August 2011
http://fromthekage.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Tommy's Detroit Bar and Grill attracting attention in quiet corner of Detroit. Rule No. 1 in attracting customers: make sure they know you're there. Tommy's Detroit Bar and Grill, tucked in a low-traffic corner of downtown Detroit that sees little action when the Red Wings aren't in-season, is turning to the basics as it tries to gain traction in the space long occupied by Mac's on Third. So far, it's working. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Links to this post. Over the Lodge, and...
The Detroit Times: Elwood Bar earns its stripes as Detroit baseball landmark
http://fromthekage.blogspot.com/2009/07/elwood-bar-earns-its-stripes-as-detroit_28.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Elwood Bar earns its stripes as Detroit baseball landmark. If there were such a thing as the Unofficial Bar of Old Tiger Stadium, few Detroit baseball fans would argue that Nemo’s Bar on Michigan Avenue would top the list. In fact, when the Tigers shuttered the old stadium at the end of the 1999 season and moved across town, it would have been fitting had they found a way to lift Nemo’s from its Corktown roots and plop it somewhere in Foxtown. Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Elmwood Cemetery is a Jewel in the Heart of Detroit. Elmwood Cemetery sprawls quietly across Detroit's near-eastside, a seven-iron from people chucking dice on craps tables in Greektown. Martin Luther King High School lives just across the street. City Sports Center lives just across the fence. At East Lafayette and Mt. Elliott? It's interesting to see the world through the perspective of time. We understand that a cemetery might not make your tourism to-do list. But Elmwo...

The only place to sniff out the facts. Saturday, May 5, 2012. Say hello to the AirPod car. Invented by Guy Negre, this car has a door in the front, three wheels, but no gasoline?
