T he Church at Frostville. The History of the Church At Frostville. The Frostville Church was built in approximately 1847 on land owned by Mr. Amos Briggs. Mr. Briggs. Purchased land on the north east corner of Butternut Ridge and Ridgeville (today known as Lorain and Barton Roads in North Olmsted) and donated a portion of this land to the Methodist Church to which he was a member. The Methodists met in this simple, one room church building until 1868.

T he Church at Frostville. Your Very Special Wedding. The Church is an historic building, which requires some restrictions to preserve the restoration and to protect our wedding participants. Those restrictions include:. The church seats 136 guests. No adhesives or nails may be used to mount decorations to the walls, alter rail or alter. No animals in the church other than service animals. No birdseed or rice to shower the bride and groom, but we do allow bubbles or flower petals.

Origins of the Church. This church was built in approximately 1847 on land owned by Mr. Amos Briggs. According to Crisfield Johnson’s History of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Written in 1879, Amos arrived in Kingston in 1817. (The area we now know as North Olmsted started in 1816 as Kingston, became Lenox in 1823, in 1830 was changed to Olmstead.) HELLO FROM FROST VILLAGE. About the year 1808, three brothers Jonathan,Richard and Joseph Frost, from New Hamshire, came to Shefford and settled here, their name being given to the village. Jonathan Frost was the first to fell a tree at this place and his first house was erected. INFO: Shefford history by:C. Thomas, published 1877 with reprint in 1993. The Eastern townships were populated by Loyalists in mid 1700. The church dates from 1852. In 1804 he married Charlotte Rebecca Rogers. He died in 1869.
