Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: Sweat and Unwanted Attention
http://frostyllamapeacecorps.blogspot.com/2011/12/sweat-and-unwanted-attention.html
Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Thursday, December 15, 2011. Sweat and Unwanted Attention. Running in Jamaica is like one of two extremes: running through a strip club or a retirement home. Most of the time, these dueling personalities of Jamaica attack within mere minutes of each other, sometimes seconds, throwing the runner into a confused bipolar response mode. But for every annoying and obnoxious encounter on the road, there is a friendly and pleasant one to make up fo...

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: Word Vomit
http://frostyllamapeacecorps.blogspot.com/2011/07/word-vomit.html
Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Friday, July 29, 2011. So it’s clearly no shock that I’ve only updated three times after being gone for a month. I don’t really have any specific stories to tell because everything just seems like one huge run on sentence of events and people and things all mashed together into a big humid blur…kind of like this sentence. After our two-ish weeks in Hellshire, we moved out to our sector specific hubs. Virginia and I did yoga one evening on a ...

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Thursday, May 31, 2012. My First Mentally Disabled Lionfish. When I arrived in Jamaica almost a year ago (! Right Really this means we get to go stab devil lionfish with spears, sometimes repeatedly, and laugh diabolically when we chop off their heads in the name of research in our very slick and sterile rooftop laboratory. Not the three-times killed lionfish, but just as big. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sara Gress, PCT. My life is a constan...

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: Real Street Soccer
http://frostyllamapeacecorps.blogspot.com/2011/07/real-street-soccer.html
Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Thursday, July 7, 2011. I had my first Jamaican street soccer experience the other night. After a few days of getting a feel for the community and where and when soccer was played, I put my indoor shoes on and sauntered down the street. A group of guys always play at five in the evening in front of the church where our PC training takes place. They immediately put me on a team. There is a constant stream of shouting while playing football on...

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: October 2011
http://frostyllamapeacecorps.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Let's pretend that is almost exactly a month ago. I just got my site placement from Peace Corps: Portland Football Association in Port Antonio. That's pretty much all of the explanation I got. The first thought that ran through my head: 'Seriously? Third thought: 'I hope it is not hot as hell with the humidifier cranked up in Portland'. Clearly, I was totally stoked about this assignment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: July 2010

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Shocking, I know. As pretty much anyone who listens to me blather on about myself knows, I am joining the Peace Corps. After realizing that I didn't really know what the hell was going on in my life and that I had memorized the Peace Corps website, I decided to act on something that had been rolling around in my head for a while. Want to live in another country? Yup Want to experience a lot of awkward situations?

Frosty Llama: Peace Corps: Moldy Clothes and Conversation
http://frostyllamapeacecorps.blogspot.com/2011/08/moldy-clothes-and-conversation.html
Frosty Llama: Peace Corps. Jamaica, June 2011 - September 2013. Friday, August 5, 2011. Moldy Clothes and Conversation. Last night I discovered that the rumors about Peace Corps Jamaica are true. Clothes do mold here. I had heard this before I came, but having never lived anywhere with any real level of humidity, I was in denial that things other than food items would actually sprout mold. I guess I will be washing my clothes to not only rid them of smell, but also of small opportunistic creatures. Homes...

I LOVE YOU - Those three words have my life in them. Pregnancy Tickers from WiddlyTinks.com. Saturday, September 3, 2011. I have not done a very good job about keeping this updated! Well, I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. and, boy, it has been a blast! I still experience morning sickness, or should I say "all day" sickness. But, it is all worth it in the end! We had another ultrasound when I was 20 weeks pregnant, and found out that we are having a BOY! Here are some pictures. I'm much bigger now. :).

I LOVE YOU - Those three words have my life in them. Pregnancy Tickers from WiddlyTinks.com. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Our bathroom is FINISHED! Garret put the final touches on the bathroom quite a while ago; however, I've just been too lazy to post anything! He is turning into quite the handy man. After he finished tiling the shower, he moved on to tiling the floor, putting in the new sink, etc. We are so happy with the way it turned out. Here is our new floor. Our new sink, cabinet, and light fixture.
