I take pleasure in many things. 34 metres of velvet. Jun 8th, 2015 at 11:24 PM. At least I hope it is. It says so on the tag, but the seller on Tradera (Swedish auction site) couldnt guarantee it. In any case its vintage - its made in West Germany. And dark red. Tomorrow Rickard and I have booked a car from our car pool and were going to pick it up. I take pleasure in many things. August 8th, 2015. An update on the 17th century gown. Aug 8th, 2015 at 5:13 PM. Today I tried on the bodice for the first time, and to my great joy it fit almost perfectly. Since it was a new pattern I wasnt sure how it would fit, but I just needed to shorten the straps a little. After this I added a layer of buckram over the centre front on the front side of the bodice, and a smaller piece on the back. And boning across the other bones in the back of the bodice.

I had intended from the start that the skirt that I made last week should get a matching top, so that they could be worn together, as a dress, or separately, and today I finished it. And with a pair of shorts you can wear just the blouse. Or without shorts, if youre at home. On an unrelated note: I bought this trim yesterday at the local haberdasher - because its impossible to resist.

It really is a lovely, soft velvet to work with, not a stiff as many cotton velvets and with a short nap, which is more period. My frist gown from it is a German/Scandinavian dress that is to be worn with a damask apron and a short waistcoat/long partlet from velvet. I plan to take photos of the whole outfit when I go to a 16th century manor house on Saturday. 2 comments Leave a comment. View my Tags page.

Historical re-enactment, spicing up life. Thoughts about the hobby that takes you away and usually makes you happy. From beginning of this year to mid February I spend most of my time planning foodstuff for Midwinter Feast (I wrote about the challenge and feas. T to Let hemboyle. We had the most awesome kitchen crew ever and so much fun! I finished Jon's baggy pants for Winter Eve event (held in mid January). The pattern is the same that I used for UlfR's pants. Our book will be published in English too!

Tisdag 6 oktober 2015. Ingen känsla är fel. ALLA känslor är SANNA ingen känsla är fel, därför behöver vi aldrig tycka att de är barnsliga, dumma eller skämmas över vad vi känner. Våra känslor är alltid äkta och talar om något för oss. Kanske en egenskap vi själva besitter som vi inte vill ha utan som vi skäms för. En blogg om frualderblads pyssel i retrotyger. Söndag 29 mars 2015. Nu är det vår igen! På sportlovet flyttade vi om hemma och jag fick större yta för min kreativitet. Under hösten har mitt sypyssel gått på sparlåga, dels för att jag behövde vila och dels för det har varit så trångt i vårt tv/syrum. Men på sportlovet tog jag tag i det hela och möblerade om! Så här fint blev vårt nya sovrum. Litet och mysigt! Ett fint tyg jag fått Emma blev till gardiner och kuddar! En tygkasse till Johanna. Hela sommaren...
