Life Is Sacred: October 2011

Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Friday, October 28, 2011. A Very Special World Series. The St. Louis Cardinals are the 2011 Baseball Champions of the world! And this baseball crazy town will revel in this amazing series for years to come. And why not? Back at the end of August, no one, and I mean no one, expected this team to be anywhere but on the golf course or off fishing somewhere right about now. But the team, thankfully, didn't listen to all the "experts.". There was...

Life Is Sacred: December 2011

Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. The House That Gives Life. Recently, the house in the photo above, was sold and a new family moved in. So what? Well, this house was the Smith Family home for many years. When it was first built, it was one of the only houses in the area. Now, it is but one among many in a densely populated subdivision. More time passed and on an early spring morning in 2010, the patriarch of the Smith Family passed. The hou...

Life Is Sacred: February 2012

Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. How much more do we have to sit through such bilge? How much more are we expected to lend a sympathetic ear to America's co-eds who experience financial hardships because their budgets are stretched by the need to purchase birth control? Since when was contraception a right? Has anyone considered that as the only 100% foolproof way of avoiding the conception of that unwanted human being? Sunday, February 5, 2012.

Life Is Sacred: May 2011
http://wojtyla4pope.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Today the nation pauses to honor those who, throughout our history, have answered the call to military service to protect and defend our freedoms from the threats of those who would gladly take them from us. And so, on this one hundred forty-fifth anniversary of the observation of Memorial Day, we pause to say thank you and may God bless you all who have given their lives as payment for our freedom! Our Journey of Love.

Life Is Sacred: A Sad Day
http://wojtyla4pope.blogspot.com/2012/07/a-sad-day.html
Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Saturday, July 21, 2012. What is the cause of this terrible tragedy? I'm not sure anyone can say for certain. This is far too complicated for simple explanations. To say that it is mental illness seems too easy. Obviously there is evil involved, but that, too, is not the complete answer. What has become of a society that once stood for family values and solid morals? Prayer is our response to this tragedy. Prayer is the most powerful thi...

Life Is Sacred: August 2011
http://wojtyla4pope.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. It is amazing how fast time passes. When a child, I felt that I would never grow up. The space between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed next to an eternity. A school year passed as quickly as a decade. Days drifted by like a stick floating down a lazy, slow moving stream. It just never seemed like the future would ever arrive. I can't seem to get time to slow down. Take the 10th day of August. In the moment that I m...

Life Is Sacred: Absurdly Absurd!
http://wojtyla4pope.blogspot.com/2012/02/absurdly-absurd.html
Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Sunday, February 5, 2012. When President Obama asserted that Jesus Christ would back him on his push to tax the wealthy more by quoting Luke 12: 48, he reached a new low in the mixing of religion and politics. The verse reads, "Of everyone to whom much is given, much will be required.". Obama and his administration always remind us about the separation of church and state. Where is that idea here, Mr. President? A Picture of Things to Come.

Life Is Sacred: June 2012

Thoughts and Observations on the Vital Issue of Life and Faith. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Now that my mother's funeral has come and gone, I have had some time for some thought about the kind of woman she was. Often we don't understand just how remarkable our parents are until they are gone. According to Tammy, my mother didn't skip a beat. "Yes, I am," she answered. "I don't want to to go, but I'm not scared.". These words, spoken as she faced the last few hours of her life, will serve for me as a monumen...
