Monday, April 11, 2011. Last year I set a few goals. For myself. I'm happy to say that I've followed through on most of them. M and I are on our way to being healthier versions of ourselves. In the last six weeks, I've lost just under 21 lbs, and he has lost just over 33 lbs. I'm very proud of him (and myself, for that matter), but we're going to keep up the good work. However, word of advice for anyone thinking of going: avoid the summer months! Interesting sights along the road less traveled. In an attempt to start working on learning German, I’ve been combing the Internet for viable language-training options. Rosetta Stone is probably the best known, and while I’d like to try it, the cost is a little too high for my budget ($500 for the whole set! Pimselur is a bit more affordable – I used it in the past to learn Korean; it’s audio-only and great for pronunciation but I felt I didn’t learn new vocabulary very quickly. I came across this Groupon.

In an effort to see what all the excitement is about, I headed down to the Tidal Basin this morning and took some pictures.
