Thursday, April 17, 2008. Bathurst and the Blue Mountains. We picked up the Mid Western Highway for the long trip East at Rankin Springs. An old Dakota caught our attention at West Wyalong before we reached Cowra on the River Lachlan. We lunched at Bathurst on which small convoys of vintage cars were descending for a rally. At Lithgow we left the highway to cross the Great Dividing Range at Mount Victoria, dropping down into Windsor (one of the Macquarie Towns established in 1810). Seven Years of Drought.
