Saturday, May 30, 2009. I'm halfway to the halfway point (does that make sense? Anyway, I was able to go on my 4-day pass in Qatar with some friends. Had a blast. Here's the aircraft that took us there from Baghdad. It felt like it was 300 degrees on that C130 while we waited for the pallets to be loaded and the sand storm to clear. Friday, March 27, 2009. Leaving the confines of the FOB requires wearing certain equipment. In this shot, I'm wearing most of the required uniform components. You can clearly see the eye protection, ear plugs, gloves, body armor, 9mm pistol attached to the armor, and radio. Saturday, February 28, 2009. Left Ft. Benning for a 6 hour flight to Shannon, Ireland. There we endured a 4 hour layover, then it was another 6 hour flight to Kuwait.
