The Police Return – Matthew Blythe – meandminimees
https://meandminimees.wordpress.com/2016/12/19/the-police-return
Matthew Blythe – meandminimees. Matthew Blythe – A single adopter. A story of then, now and the future. Me and The Minis. Things are difficult here at the moment. You may have read my previous post The Police. That experience left me feeling flat. I may have not contacted the police again, unless a police officer friend gave me a bit of a lecture , telling me to get help if we needed it. I wasn’t going to post this, but then felt I should. Last night, I felt that, maybe, they cared. December 19, 2016.

A Positive Few Weeks…. | familiestied

A Positive Few Weeks…. June 16, 2016. It’s been a positive few weeks here….along with a few firsts…. GG went on her first Beavers sleepover and I am so so proud of her. When she first heard about it she said she wanted to go but she was also very anxious and insistent that I would have to go too (I wasn’t very keen on that option…suggested Daddy, but no had to be me). To keep her out of trouble once she was back, in the interests of feminism and so I could get some jobs done GG helped me with some DIY!

2016 CHRISTMAS CARD • KAYLA LOVES
http://www.kaylaloves.com/2016/12/09/2016-christmas-card
December 9, 2016. I originally wanted this year’s Christmas card picture to be Archer playing in the snow, but sadly, we missed out on seeing snow this year. I didn’t let that upset me though because I wanted a great picture this year no matter what! We decided to go out into a forest near our house and take the photo there. This was the photo we decided on in the end. I absolutely love this photo of Archer and I am so happy with it! Linking up with: #KCACOLS. December 24, 2016 at 9:59 am. So cute I too ...

Life's A Playdate. Crash It. Foster Care Wish Lists: How friends and family can help. July 17, 2015. After we announced to our friends and family that we were starting the process of opening our home as foster parents, we had several people ask how they could help. In the beginning, it’s hard to know what you might need – you have just started your classes and you probably don’t know what ages you might have in your home. What do you even start? We made a Wish List on Amazon.com, because that’s...So an o...

What a difference a year makes (part 1) | familiestied
https://familiestied.wordpress.com/2016/12/09/what-a-difference-a-year-makes-part-1
What a difference a year makes (part 1). December 9, 2016. I have found that annual events, such as holidays, birthdays or Christmas are great markers for reflecting back and (hopefully) recognising progress. Incidentally, if I had this time again and would go up there and get him….I am sad that I didn’t have the conviction to do it). A year on and he positively loved doing the Christmas Play (although he managed to fit a lot of yawns in)! He joined in with a smile on his face (we even heard him singing ...

This Week I…Thought I….Pre Adoption I…. May 15, 2016. This week I wrote a blog….lost it and then had to write it again……here it is:. This blog ties in with his weeks WASO theme. I have started with some of the things I have done, followed it with what I thought life would be like and then what life was like pre adoption. It’s a long one, I got carried away and there was so much more I could have written! This week I have helped run a support group. I thought after a year I would be back at work. ...This ...

A Ramble Through My Mind: Diagnosis, Family & Friends | familiestied

A Ramble Through My Mind: Diagnosis, Family and Friends. February 26, 2016. It seems GG’s diagnosis is pretty set. Two consultants agree that she has FAS with secondary ADHD. So we have now started to tell close family and friends. Mainly because we want them to understand some of her behaviour quirks and also we think it’s only fair if we want them to help on occasions with caring for the kids. I have also been asked on several occasions “Did you know the risk when you adopted her? Why do you ask? Most ...

Survival of the Fittest | familiestied

Survival of the Fittest. March 6, 2016. You are so close but not quiet there. Matching panel finally arrives and you can see the finish line. All if a sudden it’s a sprint to the finish , aka placement day. Hopefully at some point you reach the end of the race (although I now realise there is never an end) and are rewarded with and get some down time to recover while your children venture out into the big wide world! I will look back on it when I am on the ropes and use it to come back out fighting.

October 2, 2014. So as the veteran of two lots of intros I just wanted to put some tips down on paper (many of which have been gleaned from other adopters) as I know there are quite a few people on twitter with intros on the horizon:. 1 Stock up on ready meals or freeze some so when you get in after a long day and can’t face cooking and just want food and bed you have something that can just be stuck in the microwave. We had lots of fun with bubbles and what young (or big! Kid doesn’t love bubbles! 9 Try...
