Fumbling Through Homeschooling: Our New Morning Board
http://fumblingthroughparenthood.blogspot.com/2012/08/our-new-morning-board.html
Adventures in Educating Four Rambunctious Boys at Home (with Creativity, Resourcefulness, and a big dose of Grace). Thursday, August 23, 2012. Our New Morning Board. New Year = New Plan. I’m excited to be adding a new element to our home preschool this year, a morning board! Here’s the layout I came up with:. I attached everything using double sided tape to a foam board I bought at Walmart. I attached them to the board using 1" Binder Rings. Across the top of the board I have a section for making the date.

Dude and I have been playing this fun little game for the past couple of days. I’m not sure he’s realized it yet, but he’s also practicing his math skills! Adventures in Educating Four Rambunctious Boys at Home (with Creativity, Resourcefulness, and a big dose of Grace). Sunday, September 2, 2012. I found a description of this experiment. And couldn’t resist trying it as part of our water cycle studies. Here are the materials you’ll need for this project:. We used a giant pickle jar, but I think a smaller jar would have worked better). I used a screwdriver tip because because I couldn’t find a nail at the time.). And Water just shy of boiling (not pictured).

Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Valentines Day and Go Ravens! I know it's a little late, but I wanted to post this cute picture of Parker and Phillip before church on Superbowl Sunday. They wore black sweaters with purple Polo horses. Obviously, they were cheering on the Ravens. I think Aunt Anna and Uncle Brenden would disown us if we didn't support them! Me: "Who gave you this paper with his name on it? Phillip: "I found Lego font! I downloaded it and typed his name for his box! Monday, February 18, 2013.

The Pettys: July 2012
http://phillipandallyson.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 26, 2012. Conversations and a prayer. I've always heard that you should write down the funny things your kids say, and I can't think of a better way to record them than through the blog. We print out a yearly book for Parker, so one day he'll be able to enjoy these funny tidbits. In case there's any confusion. Parker: "I'm a boy. You're a dad.". Parker: "She's a principal. (slight pause) And a mommy.". We'd been playing outside one morning, and I ran in to get some water for us to drink.

Sunday, August 26, 2012. Have you ever seen Madagascar 2? You know the beginning part where Alakay's dad is trying to teach him how to fight? He's a lion cub, and his dad is the king of the pride, so his dad tries to teach him to be a fierce warrior. Anyway, Alakay isn't interested in learning to fight. He only wants to romp in the grass, chase butterflies, and dance. Welllet me introduce you to Alakay Petty. The baseball lesson starts out pretty well. Saturday, August 25, 2012. http://phillipandallyson.blogspot.com/2013/05/four-years-old.html
Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Instead of having a big party this year, we decided to celebrate Parker's birthday with a family party followed by a weekend trip to Legoland. We started out Thursday night with a party with all his cousins (minus Caroline) and his grandparents. He got the Lego train he's been coveting for months. And he got his first bike! We had so much fun! We celebrated last night at Chick-Fil-A with Aunt Mere. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. I can teach my child!

Fumbling the Fly
Saturday, June 28, 2014. VagabondFly Craft beer 100 shot fly tying challenge. Who's up for the "challenge"? We could modify it from craft beers to PBR. Found this video via Moldy Chum. VagabondFly: Craft beer 100 shot fly tying challenge: behind the scenes. Posted by Fumbling the Fly. Monday, June 9, 2014. I have been very fortunate. I am fortunate to have a wife who tolerates my need to fish. I am fortunate to have met some great friends who share my passion and show me new places to fish. On Saturday I...
Fumbling Through Fatherhood
As seen through the eyes of a bewildered and befuddled father. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Ok, we thought it was a fluke that when Malaia was 15 months old she was able to climb out of her crib. And to be honest I'm not really sure if that was normal, but based on all of our friends children, not one other child was able to do that at such a young age. I say this now. Malaia is starting Gymnastics(for toddlers) next Wednesday. and Koa might not be too far behind! Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Give us a break.

Fumbling Through Life
Running commentary on my life.and life in general. I just read a book review and thought, if I got a review like that on something I wrote, I would have a heart attack. This is why I'm beginning to think academia is not for me after all. I'm just not thick skinned enough to deal with shit like this. Here's the review:. Got sick of the way my blog looked. I think I designed that thing 6 years ago. So yeah, I changed it up in case any one gives a shit since I update nearly never. Use SAD lamp religiously.

Fumbling through my forties
Fumbling through my forties. Ruminations, ramblings, and rarely, rants on just about anything. Sunday, March 11, 2012. Still here and renewed. I have not forgotten this blog although it feels like it sometimes. I intended this blog to be more general in content, as opposed to The Mouse and More. Which is more about my running and training. Fumbling through my forties came about at a low time in my life, which I have since climbed from to where I am now. But where is that? Saturday, August 13, 2011. I was...

Here are my preschooler’s tray activities from our tree unit. I didn’t get too many action pictures this time. We’ve been busy trying to finish up our homeschool year strong. Therapy Sucks | my journey of fumbling through therapy.
My journey of fumbling through therapy. August 16, 2015. August 16, 2015. It would seem that the therapist and I arrive at a similar therapeutic impasse. Time and time again. I find that. Frustrating, but I’m also trying to imagine how I can use this particular experience to learn more about myself and grow. That is basically the whole point of being in psychotherapy anyway, yeah? For the most part, I know (rationally) that she is doing this for a good reason, which is likely because these thought patter...

The Waiting Room
This could take a while. Thursday, September 17, 2015. Posted by Seeking Solace. And, I cannot forget about the wonderful friendships that grew out of this space. I've gotten to know so many wonderful people, some of which I have met in real life. I truly cherish these friendships and I am glad that they can continue to grow. I am grateful for those folks, and everyone who has read this blog and commented. It's a metaphor for the new challenges and changes that I am embracing. I hope you will stop by.
