Fumee Lake Natural Area. Home to many creatures, great and small. Four species of frogs, one toad and one salamander can be found mostly in the marshes and creeks with some found in the lakes. In the spring, frog eggs and tadpoles can be spotted in puddles left by melting snow. There are almost 150 species of birds in the wetland areas of Fumee Lake. Two of these species, the Common Loon and the Bald Eagle, are listed as "threatened" in Michigan. Both have historically nested at Fumee Lake.

There are two parks. Maintained by Breitung Township. There is a 10:00 pm curfew at both parks. One park is located in East Kingsford. This park includes a pavilion with electricity, playground equipment, a baseball field, a basketball court, and a warming building. There is also a skating rink.
