Funeral Kickbacks | Ashes to Ashes
https://ashestoashesllc.wordpress.com/funeral-kickbacks
Just another WordPress.com weblog. I reas an article in one of today’s newpapers about nurses at a hospital accepting kickbacks from local funeral directors to notify them when a death occured. This is probably news to many but it is not at all unusual. Some nurses, clergy and even hospice workers will notify funeral industry members about deaths or impending deaths. This can be a lucrative source of additional income for these, less then honorable, individuals. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. October 8, 2009. I just cannot keep up with the number of instances of fraudulent pre need practices. An article from AP about an Oakland, Maryland funeral home operator, Bradley Stewart, raises the ugly question of why do we trust any funeral home operator to do the right thing when it comes to handling pre need funds. Mr. Stewart pleaded guilty to 23 counts of embezzling over $160,000 of consumers pre need funds. Never pre pay for funeral or cemetery goods and services.

Wooden Caskets | Ashes to Ashes
https://ashestoashesllc.wordpress.com/2008/09/11/wooden-caskets
Just another WordPress.com weblog. September 11, 2008. So it is not at all surprising that when disinterred the casket falls apart. The funeral home and the cemetery have a responsibility to inform the family that this is an expected and obvious natural consequence of putting wood in the ground. This occurrence was not the fault of the cemetery or the funeral home, unless they did not inform the family. Apparently the funeral home that sold the merchandise was not sued.
