Art Crawl Blog: Exhibit at the Power Plant
http://gallerygals.blogspot.com/2009/02/exhibit-at-power-plant.html
With the Gallery Gals. Thursday, February 19, 2009. Exhibit at the Power Plant. Emily Very Duke and Cooper Batterby. The bigger issue I had with this exhibit was that we were not permitted to touch the animals that were on display at the beginning of the piece but the message in the video was that this man really felt passionate about killing animals too be able to touch and pet these wild animals without danger. Despite this observation, I really enjoyed the experience. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

With the Gallery Gals. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. We went to many galleries that day; The Power Plant, Art Metropol, Birch Libralato, Diaz Contemporary, Naomi, Mercer Union, and the Funkton Gallery. It was a lot to take in in one day but I loved every minute of it! There were highlights from each gallery. We did not spend a lot of time in the Naomi gallery but the most memorable experience from the visit was the eerie music playing as you entered the space and being faced with three hanging people. ...

Art Crawl Blog: The Gallery Gals Take on Toronto!
http://gallerygals.blogspot.com/2009/02/gallery-gals-take-on-toronto.html
With the Gallery Gals. Monday, February 23, 2009. The Gallery Gals Take on Toronto! Or, at least our take on its galleries. Well, the word is in on the hottest art in Toronto, and that word is. Not only that, but what’s carrying this art into the hearts of Torontonians is the “anything goes” world of mixed media. Seriously. Take a look around- you’ll see. The second movie room had more of an installation feel to it: ‘. 8216;Domestics of Community’. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete pro...

With the Gallery Gals. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Part 2: The Day Continues. We hop the bus and head to another part of the city! After leaving The Power Plant we drove out to our next stop, Gallery 2- Art Metropole! I’d go so far to as to say this exhibition of work has a connection to installation, the way it makes use of the walls and fills the entire environment (they even have a back section that have t-shirts with the same style). It was hard work getting to all these galleries in a day,.
