It has been a week and two days since I ran the ING Georgia Marathon. I am firmly into the Marathon Recovery phase, and. I want to get back to speed work and long runs! So how crazy does that make me? Training like that. I must be a masochist. So here is my post-marathon training schedule:. ING Georgia Marathon – The 26.2 Achoo! The weat...

Musings on life, running, faith, nonsense, and everything else but work. Atlanta Running – Places to Refill and Expel. May 4, 2007. Posted by atlantarunner in Injuries. There’s a silver lining in this: I have not yet started my formal training schedule for the Maui Marathon, which will be September 16. I have a little time to rest up before I start that. However, I may need to modify my training plan. I was originally planning to use the Furman. No comments yet — be the first. Enter your comment here.

Run Lola Run: July 2008

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Swimming- Not Just Child's Play. So, after yesterday's fiasco, I was determined to go for a swim today. The sky looked threatening, but I took a chance and ventured over to the Garden Hills Pool around 4pm for a pool workout. I hate working out indoors (with the exception of yoga and Pilates), plus swimming is completely non-impact and has the added bonus of providing a cool environment in which to exercise. And felt like I do after a two hour run. Since I've been mopey and cranky...

Run Lola Run: May 2009
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 18, 2009. As much as I love running, there are many days I find it difficult to put on my shoes and get out the door. In fact, this has been my problem for most of the spring, in spite of three races, two PRs and a team to lead and mentor. Sometimes, I find motivation in goals- a new PR, a new distance, a new course, Boston dreams. Sometimes, I find it in people and community- in running with friends, in running for a cause, in running because I can. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, February 8, 2009. Race Report: Chattahoochee Challenge. My loyal readers (or reader, i.e. Sarah! Have requested a race report, which I would have done yesterday, had I not spent yesterday afternoon at Jeju Sauna. In Duluth, which pretty much rendered me comatose for the next 24 hours. But that's another post. And then I came to my senses. My goal was to run a sub 55:00 10Kand I DID! On March 15, but Peachtree registration is online for the first time and starts at 7:00 am that morning, and I'm no...

Run Lola Run: December 2008

Saturday, December 27, 2008. Conquering Fear (and Some Hills, Too). So, seven miles isn't particularly long, but it's the longest I've run since my injury back in July, so it was more of a mental hurdle than a physical one. I accidentally overslept, so I missed GTS this morning, and apparently, some pretty gross weather. Tim only did half of his 13 miler this morning, so offered to join me for an afternoon run. I mapped out a pretty tough course. I also got to try on his Garmin 305. Of this world, that p...

Run Lola Run: Inspiration
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009/04/inspiration.html
Monday, April 20, 2009. This morning, I woke up early (yes, me, Monday morning, early- and yes, 9:30am is early for me! To watch the Boston Marathon. For the everyday runner, Boston is the Holy Grail- the common athlete's Olympics. Was inspirational (and clearly, the woman never has a day like I did today- no visible tummy bloat in what is pretty much a bikini), making a great run for the win and finishing third. Ryan Hall. Overall for females. Mike tore it up at 3:20 ish. And yet, as I was out this afte...

Thursday, February 12, 2009. Running (A Dog's Perspective). Hi I'm Zoe, the cutest border collie on the planet. And I'm here to tell you about running with my Mommy. First of all, my Mommy is a liar. Last Friday, she promised me that Auntie Jenn would take me to the park. But instead, Mommy and Daddy left me at home alone with the damn cat, and I was so stressed I ate cat litter. But she told me she was, and FINALLY, she was telling the truth. We didn't see anyone we knew yesterday, but we had a great ru...
