Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Sunday, May 9, 2010. It's been a good couple of weeks' worth of training. I didn't get a lot of runs in during my last week in Chicago, but the runs I had were quality. And my birthday run - the Big Peach 5K - was a comfortable sub-9 minute pace 5K. Sunday, April 25, 2010. What do you do when the training is especially difficult? Saturday, April 24, 2010. And health and finances willing, we'll culminate this leg of the journey in NYC in November! I think ...

FunRunnin': July 2008

http://funrunnin.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Tuesday, July 8, 2008. I have no idea where this will take me. But I have another marathon challenge before me, and I find myself compelled to chronicle it. At least today. Tomorrow may yet be another story. The short answer is that I won't.) So Friday I wallowed in my disappointment. I mean full-on, inconsolable, don't want to hear about your stinkin' PR wallow. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Overdressed - in March? What I'm checkin' out.

FunRunnin': Day 1

http://funrunnin.blogspot.com/2008/12/day-1.html

Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Monday, December 1, 2008. Yes, I promise to get more creative with titles. This (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3.) will get old as the days stack up in preparation for the ING full. A couple of days ago, I said I'd share a bit of my proposed training plan. The summary below is lifted with adaptation from a Runner's World book on running a four-hour marathon (there I've said it):. 8x400 meters @ 2:05-2:15. 9 miles @ 10:40-11:10. December 1, 2008 at 2:59 PM. Dad (to an...

FunRunnin': November 2008

http://funrunnin.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Saturday, November 29, 2008. If all goes well, I'll outline my schedule a bit more here in the coming days. But tomorrow's a rest day, and I plan to do just that. Friday, November 28, 2008. I'll try to keep up with my progress here. My pattern has been for blogging and training to walk (sadly not run) in lock-step. Odds are that I'll that more likely PR in March if I'm reporting regularly here. In that, too, there is a kind of accountability.

FunRunnin': May 2007

http://funrunnin.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Friday, May 25, 2007. Morning Run - To An Extreme. And I'm a morning person. Don't know if it's always been that way, but ever since I had the paper route in junior high school I've regularly gotten up before, and sometimes well before, the crack of dawn. Every Saturday morning to share about an hour's worth of exercise time followed by, typically, more than an hour of social time at our local coffee bar. Monday, May 21, 2007. Need for (a little) speed.

FunRunnin': Kinda chilly (and dark) for a bike ride

http://funrunnin.blogspot.com/2008/12/kinda-chilly-and-dark-for-bike-ride.html

Lappin' (and being lapped), laughin', and livin'. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Kinda chilly (and dark) for a bike ride. Glad you had a good ride on that blasted exer-cycle! FYI, the TV remote in the fitness center is dead, but you can still use the buttons on the right side of the TV. Of course, once you set your channel and start exercising, you're stuck with it. :). Musings on life, running, faith, nonsense, and everything else but work. Atlanta Running – Places to Refill and Expel. April 3, 2007. Posted by atlantarunner in Running. It has been a week and two days since I ran the ING Georgia Marathon. I am firmly into the Marathon Recovery phase, and. I want to get back to speed work and long runs! So how crazy does that make me? Training like that. I must be a masochist. So here is my post-marathon training schedule:. ING Georgia Marathon – The 26.2 Achoo! The weat...

Musings on life, running, faith, nonsense, and everything else but work. Atlanta Running – Places to Refill and Expel. May 4, 2007. Posted by atlantarunner in Injuries. There’s a silver lining in this: I have not yet started my formal training schedule for the Maui Marathon, which will be September 16. I have a little time to rest up before I start that. However, I may need to modify my training plan. I was originally planning to use the Furman. No comments yet &#8212 be the first. Enter your comment here.

Run Lola Run: July 2008

http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Swimming- Not Just Child's Play. So, after yesterday's fiasco, I was determined to go for a swim today. The sky looked threatening, but I took a chance and ventured over to the Garden Hills Pool around 4pm for a pool workout. I hate working out indoors (with the exception of yoga and Pilates), plus swimming is completely non-impact and has the added bonus of providing a cool environment in which to exercise. And felt like I do after a two hour run. Since I've been mopey and cranky...

Run Lola Run: May 2009

http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 18, 2009. As much as I love running, there are many days I find it difficult to put on my shoes and get out the door. In fact, this has been my problem for most of the spring, in spite of three races, two PRs and a team to lead and mentor. Sometimes, I find motivation in goals- a new PR, a new distance, a new course, Boston dreams. Sometimes, I find it in people and community- in running with friends, in running for a cause, in running because I can. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Run Lola Run: Race Report: Chattahoochee Challenge

Sunday, February 8, 2009. Race Report: Chattahoochee Challenge. My loyal readers (or reader, i.e. Sarah! Have requested a race report, which I would have done yesterday, had I not spent yesterday afternoon at Jeju Sauna. In Duluth, which pretty much rendered me comatose for the next 24 hours. But that's another post. And then I came to my senses. My goal was to run a sub 55:00 10Kand I DID! Run Lola Run: December 2008

Saturday, December 27, 2008. Conquering Fear (and Some Hills, Too). So, seven miles isn't particularly long, but it's the longest I've run since my injury back in July, so it was more of a mental hurdle than a physical one. I accidentally overslept, so I missed GTS this morning, and apparently, some pretty gross weather. Tim only did half of his 13 miler this morning, so offered to join me for an afternoon run. I mapped out a pretty tough course. I also got to try on his Garmin 305. Of this world, that p...

Run Lola Run: Inspiration

http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009/04/inspiration.html

Monday, April 20, 2009. This morning, I woke up early (yes, me, Monday morning, early- and yes, 9:30am is early for me! To watch the Boston Marathon. For the everyday runner, Boston is the Holy Grail- the common athlete's Olympics. Was inspirational (and clearly, the woman never has a day like I did today- no visible tummy bloat in what is pretty much a bikini), making a great run for the win and finishing third. Ryan Hall. Overall for females. Mike tore it up at 3:20 ish. And yet, as I was out this afte...

Thursday, February 12, 2009. Running (A Dog's Perspective). Hi I'm Zoe, the cutest border collie on the planet. And I'm here to tell you about running with my Mommy. First of all, my Mommy is a liar. Last Friday, she promised me that Auntie Jenn would take me to the park. But instead, Mommy and Daddy left me at home alone with the damn cat, and I was so stressed I ate cat litter. But she told me she was, and FINALLY, she was telling the truth. We didn't see anyone we knew yesterday, but we had a great ru...
