Last week, my coworkers and I walked down the road at lunchtime and watched a sled dog race. It was the first of two big sled dog races that start in downtown Anchorage every year. This was the World Championship Sled Dog Race. Part of the yearly Anchorage Fur Rendezvous. A traditional husky team. Originally uploaded by t-dawg. I learned that not all sled dog teams are composed of huskies (like the one above is)- there are some "non-traditional" teams that incorporate lots of different kinds of dogs.
