http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015/07/hi-from-missouri-and-iowa-and-nebraska.html
Friday, July 17, 2015. I've been traveling. a lot! I hope to get some more updates coming along shortly, but in the meantime, here are a few of the critters I spotted on foot this week. And of course, rabbits. I saw them everywhere I went. Can you spot this one standing up? How about the doe crossing the road at the botanical conservatory? July 18, 2015 at 5:10 PM. Hendricks Hearth: Sweet Spock
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015/07/sweet-spock.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. I can't see anything inside his mouth that would account for the problem and he is still eating, so I'm not really sure what we are even dealing with. The eyeball itself looks normal at least. July 7, 2015 at 7:29 PM. I hope Spock makes a full recovery! He was such a sweetie. I dont have any advice, it sounds like youre doing everything possible for him. 3. July 17, 2015 at 1:38 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Everythings Coming Up Roses. View my complete profile.

Hendricks Hearth: May 2015
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. My husband and I had a loooooonnnng talk yesterday about our rabbitry. As you already know, we are looking at a probable move, possibly as soon as the end of the year. One of our main goals is to ultimately have a larger homestead with more diversity and be able to provide for ourselves in as many ways as we can. The rabbits are an essential part of our future plans for a bunch of reasons:. 3 They produce white meat that is easily digestible, low in fat, and high in protein. 3 I thi...

Hendricks Hearth: Kind of Funny
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015/07/kind-of-funny.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Yesterday my Mom was asking me about the rabbits. She asked if I was planning to still raise them if we move, to which I answered yes. She then asked me if I still had the kind of rabbits I had before. This is how it went:. Me: "You mean Harlequins? Her: "I don't know. The ones you had for years.". Me: "If you mean Harlequins, then yes I still have them.". Her: "I'm not sure. They are the ugly patchy ones that no one wants? July 26, 2015 at 8:50 AM. LOL I love it!

Hendricks Hearth: Heritage Breeds
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015/07/heritage-breeds.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. I saw this on Facebook from a Dairy Farm (Foggy Bottom). Thought it was interesting and worth sharing:. What do you think? Maybe, but it can't hurt to try. :). July 3, 2015 at 7:52 AM. When I had chickens, I allowed them to free range. They were fed little commercial feed. I tried both heritage and popular commercial breeds. Heritage always did better for me. They grew more slowly but Im patient and I had very little money in them. The eggs and meat were delicious. I like heritage b...

Hendricks Hearth: How few..
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015/07/how-few.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. I've been trying to figure this out because it is looking more and more likely that we will be moving across the country. This presents a number of challenges such as:. 1 We have to move there. I know this seems obvious, but we only have so much money and time. and there is only so much space on the biggest moving truck. It won't be feasible to make multiple trips for animals. I know I need more than a pair or two. But do I need 15? Also, TGIF. Big time. August 1, 2015 at 7:11 AM.

Hendricks Hearth: April 2015
http://hendrickshearth.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 27, 2015. Upon researching (because I have nothing if not time right now), this appears to be a hereditary form of glaucoma, which is apparently very common in domestic rabbits. I had never seen or heard of it before though, so I had to start digging through some books. Saturday, April 25, 2015. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Apparently I was completely unrealistic as to what I would be doing during my days following major surgery. Monday, April 13, 2015. Our posturings, our imagined self-importa...
