Fuzzy Blobs: Some acceptable light pollution
http://fuzzyblobsmk.blogspot.com/2012/06/some-acceptable-light-pollution.html
Some acceptable light pollution. Nights suitable for any imaging are being very elusive again. Meanwhile the church tower received some additional illumination when one of the many beacons to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee appeared on top. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SITUATION and SKY CONDITIONS. Making an assessment of the general sky conditions at my locality is helped by the Bortle Dark-Sky Scale. Only on the very best evenings it might be promoted to a 5. Fuzzy Blobs: Back to galaxies

Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). SITUATION and SKY CONDITIONS. Making an assessment of the general sky conditions at my locality is helped by the Bortle Dark-Sky Scale. Which provides some parameters against which to make a judgement. Using this scale I would say my sky usually rates a 6/7 (without the additional winter illumination). Only on the very best evenings it might be promoted to a 5. F43 10"Newtonian WO Megrez 88 apo. The guidescope is under the main tube. Other equipment and software. Milto...

The Sky at Night from a Light Polluted Site: Light Polution Problems Solved
http://mkastroimages.blogspot.com/2009/10/light-polution-problems-solved.html
The Sky at Night from a Light Polluted Site. First steps in urban astro photography. Wednesday, 21 October 2009. Light Polution Problems Solved. One of the biggest problems for the Urban Astro Photographer is the amount of light polution that is now very evident around all of the major towns and citys within the UK. To try and combat the effects this has on astro photography i have purchased an Astronomik Visual CLS Filter from Bernard at Modern Astronomy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ouse Valley Observatory: March 2012
http://ousevalleyobservatory.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 15, 2012. Further notes on the conjunction. Sunday, March 11, 2012. An image with 200mm lens. 5sec @ f8 showing Jupiter with Io Ganymede, Callisto and Venus. A video showing their setting tonight - nicely shows atmospheric dimming at the horizon is approached. (the image shift part way through is where I has to stop for a minute or so to change batteries). Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Not so much the Moon (artistically out of focus) but the way the sky turns in shades of blue from day to night.

The Sky at Night from a Light Polluted Site: Cloudy Nights(Baader Filter Replacement EOS 20D)
http://mkastroimages.blogspot.com/2009/10/cloudy-nightsbaader-filter-replacement.html
The Sky at Night from a Light Polluted Site. First steps in urban astro photography. Wednesday, 21 October 2009. Cloudy Nights(Baader Filter Replacement EOS 20D). Seeing that the weather at the moment has taken a turn for the worse and every night now seems to be a cloudy night i decided to modify my trusty old Canon 20D by fitting a Baader-ACF 2 DSLR correcting filter which replaces Canon's original filter giving full efficiency at H-Alpha wavelengths very simialr to the 20Da. Inside a Canon 20D.

My previous post shows that I find myself increasingly making random time-lapse sequences of the night sky using wide-angle lenses. These produce a record of satellites, meteors and anything else passing by that emits or reflects light. As the results are less astronomical in nature rather than publish them here I have made another blog devoted to the more interesting results obtained. Http:/ celestialtravellers.blogspot.co.uk/. Gone in a flash. An abundance of trails. Signs of spring and NGC 1245. My ne...
