西元1907年日治時期 桂林餅店 前身 桂仁號 的時候，就位於羅東火車站前，當時還是兩層樓日式建築，而公正路為鐵道，佔據交通樞紐中心，並與傳統市場距離五分鐘腳程，當時羅東鎮是台灣四大木市之一，木材集散地，羅東運送木材都是太平山頂級檜木，以至於帶動羅東鎮繁榮，促使羅東鎮為宜蘭縣的商業中心，羅東鎮是台灣319個鄉鎮，面積最小的鄉鎮，卻是商店聚集，百業興起。 桂仁號 由第一代游桂仁先生創立，並從日治時期就開始製作 金棗糕、李仔糕各種水果蜜餞 ，游桂仁先生在草創該店之初，認為金棗酸中帶澀的味道不易爲大眾所接受，因此採用傳統古法煉製，便將家中果園所產金棗予以加工處裡，發展至今已有多種口味的金棗蜜餞，及其他各類水果製成的蜜餞，由於風味獨特，也頗受消費者喜愛。 民國初期，由第二代接班人游錫鏗先生永續經營，並由 桂仁號 改為 桂林蜜月堂 ，而 桂林 取自於游桂仁創辦人名字，在民國50年改為 桂林餅店 開始發展一系列的食品加工，如 麵包、蛋糕、囍餅、牛舌餅各式各樣糕點、甜品 ，為羅東當時首屈一指的領導品牌，由當時的排隊人潮，可得知產品熱銷受歡迎程度可見一般。
