~~What's Up At Our House~~: July 2010
http://negranzablog.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
What's Up At Our House. Tuesday, July 06, 2010. Is it too early to be thinking about back-to-school? My first box of school supplies for next year came today, and our BIG box is due to arrive Friday! After I order math (site currently down for updates) I will be done except for basics like new folders, etc., that I can pick up when they go on sale here in town. Gabe and Isaac will be studying the Eastern Hemisphere for Social Studies (history and geography); here are the actual books. Because I think we ...

http://negranzablog.blogspot.com/2011/12/i-just-finished-reading-prophecy.html
What's Up At Our House. Saturday, December 10, 2011. I just finished reading Prophecy: The Fulfillment. By Deborah A. Jaeger. It was an interesting take on the end of the world, heralded in by another virgin birth. This book really sucked me in quickly though the ending felt rather abrupt to me. Though I did enjoy reading it, it was almost as if the author wasn't sure how to tie it up at the end. Thanks to LibraryThing for the advanced review copy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

~~What's Up At Our House~~: October 2011

What's Up At Our House. Monday, October 31, 2011. Happy Halloween from Pippi Lillian, Elaina Bug, and Super Saihan Isaac! I know it has only been a short time, but I must say work is really fun. The people have been so nice and I enjoy that my job keeps me busy and doesn't get boring. It is always something a little different. Plus, it is like window shopping while you work! I hope I continue to feel the same way after Black Friday hits and the crazy shopping season starts! Thursday, October 27, 2011.

What's Up At Our House. Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Wow, Restless in Carolina by Tamara Leigh is actually not my first choice genre for reading. I'm more of a mystery/suspense gal and I would put this more solidly in the chick lit category. And yet it is the most "can't put it down" book I've read in quite some time. I also loved the author's "voice." I'm not sure in literary terms that I'm using that word correctly, but what I mean is the way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wow, Restless in Caroli...

~~What's Up At Our House~~: January 2011

What's Up At Our House. Thursday, January 20, 2011. Tandem by Tracey Bateman - book review. I did find the alternating-narrator device a bit hard to follow at times, but if I set that aside and just went with the flow, it wasn't problematic. If you aren't a fan of neatly tied up endings you might bristle just a little at the last few chapters, but I have to say that there is most definitely enough left hanging for a third book to take place in Abbey Hills! I'm hoping that is the case! Though this is the ...

~~What's Up At Our House~~: April 2011

What's Up At Our House. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Help Get Justice for Henry. I know I don't blog here often anymore but this has touched me immensely. I had the great privilege of attending a conference session led by Ms. Granju years ago and only recently learned of the tragic loss of her son Henry. The story is much too long to detail here but if you will start at this link on her blog you can wade through the mess that has been made of his case. Justice for Henry Granju. What's Up At Our House. Saturday, January 14, 2012. I’ve been sort of in a “reading rut” of late; just tend to reach for my phone or the computer to play a game or surf the web rather than picking up a book. But there are sooo many books I want to read that I’ve wanted to break out of this. This week, I think I may have found the book to do it…I read about 75% of this book in one sitting. I really enjoyed spending time with the residents of Sugarcreek and, yes, I am going to miss them.

What's Up At Our House. Monday, May 10, 2010. Every once in a while I am extremely grateful for these Advanced Reader’s copies of books because they bring to my attention an author I was unfamiliar with. This is one of those times I want to give a big Thank You to WaterBrook Multnomah. For the free book! But he can’t penetrate every wound or secret—especially one fueled by a love and guilt teetering on madness. Read the entire first chapter HERE. And you will be hooked for sure! ~~What's Up At Our House~~: September 2010

What's Up At Our House. Wednesday, September 01, 2010. Gall bladders.who needs 'em anyway? So the day of my gall bladder surgery starts with someone thinking it was a good idea for me to have to get the hospital at 6 AM. Seriously, this is pretty much as close to bedtime for me as it is to morning time. But, I get there (even showered! After a thankfully-uneventful trip to the restroom in above-mentioned hospital gown, it is ensured that no catheter will be required. Yea. By late evening my legs are tole...

What's Up At Our House. Friday, April 23, 2010. Yes, I'm still here! As usual when I've gotten this far behind, be prepared for a rambling and random post. 1 Lillian has decided that some days she wants to be a boy. I never know whether to expect her to turn up in her 'boy clothes' or her pink sparkle shoes. 2 Gabe is getting drums for his birthday. Actually, they arrived today. I'm expecting my life will never be quite the same. 6 The weather has finally warmed up enough here for the Ruiz family to make...
