Hanami 2011 →. April 12, 2011. On a sunny day in March I treated myself to brunch at a tiny cafe. In Asakusa. I have been meaning to try the scones at Itonawa. For a while now and I finally did it. The presentation was very sweet but those yummy scones didn’t last long! Brunch was followed by a long walk around Asakusa. I love exploring my neighbourhood as there are always random moments or things that I see which make me smile :-). It's all about the scones at Itonowa. Dainty little sugar parcels.

It’s time for an adventure! September 6, 2011. Last month I went on an adventure leaving Tokyo for far off places in Japan. I left Tokyo with very little planning and just took each day as it came. My days were filled with beautiful nature, delicious local foods, quaint hostels, seaside onsen and so much more! Enjoying summer in a Kagoshima :-). Here are some photos from my trip SUMMER TRIP, Japan 2011. This entry was posted in Japan. It’s time for an adventure! 2 responses to “ A summer adventure.

March moments →. April 8, 2011. Panda fever is in the air and so naturally, panda anything is too. This is Japan after all! The other day as I was walking past Anderson Bakery I noticed people eagerly queuing for something. For curiosity’s sake I had to see what the fuss was about and discovered that it was the panda loaf below which people were lining up for. Only 100 loaves are baked each day for the lucky. Cute but much too expensive at 840! From the Andersen Bakery website. March moments →. You are c...

Lunch in Tokyo | onepapercrane

Miura Coast →. May 9, 2011. There is so much good food in Tokyo and I am even more convinced after some wonderful eating I recently did. My lunches usually consist of simple home-made bento that I eat in my studio at the university so a couple of special lunches in one week was quite a treat! Firstly, it was a Golden Week lunch at Annon Cook. I want that onigiri book! Lentil curry with brown rice. Tofu and red bean cheesecake. The second was a Saturday lunch with a couple of Japanese friends at Coulis.

Lunch in Tokyo →. May 2, 2011. Spring is such a lovely time in Japan, especially with the much anticipated blooming of the cherry blossoms. Is the Japanese tradition of enjoying the beauty of these flowers and the locals take the time in April each year to admire these delicate little things that come and go so briefly. I think it’s also a good excuse for picnics! This year, I had a full dose of cherry blossoms and other spring flowers at 2 beautiful parks – Shinjukugyoen. And Showa Kinen Koen. A little ...

The Spinning Top →. May 15, 2011. Sometimes one needs to escape the concrete jungle of Tokyo. A sunny day during Golden Week was perfect for a hiking trip to the Miura Coast, which is south of Yokohama on the Kanagawa shoreline. Walking, walking and more walking along the lonely rocky shoreline, discovering mysterious dark caves and sea creatures laying ramen-like eggs, crawling over a broken bridge and finally running after a bus in the dark. I love adventures! This entry was posted in Japan.
