Kill the Authority Figure - Spleen Squeezin's
http://rhjunior.livejournal.com/586938.html
Now with more bilious green! Dec 16th, 2014 @ 08:22 pm. Kill the Authority Figure. The whole "Drill Sergeant Nasty" and "training from hell" trope. You know the one, where the unsympathetic immature lout protagonist is turned over to an organization of screaming psychotics and subjected to violent abuse in order to beat him into shape- generally while someone sings "I'll make a man out of you" in the background. It produces a disturbing visceral response in me. December 17th, 2014 03:42 am (UTC). That th...

Let's improve the Mobile Home. - Spleen Squeezin's

Now with more bilious green! Jul 20th, 2015 @ 01:29 pm. Let's improve the Mobile Home. How I would design mobile homes. No wood, and no plywood or fiberboard- - Start with a steel shipping container. Same size as a mobile home, WAY stronger. Generally about $2,000-$3,000. so it wouldn't raise the price too much. Mount it on wheels, but add drop-down lockable steel legs, like a trailer on a 16 wheeler has. None of this stacking up loose cinder blocks. Make it so the wheels can stay on, too. The worst part...

Now with more bilious green! Dec 28th, 2014 @ 04:08 pm. An Open Letter to Harry Potter Fanfic Writers. So you've decided to rewrite Ron Weasley as a villain. Or at least as big a prat as Draco Malfoy. Yes, yes, let the anti-Ron butthurt swell within you. /sarcasm. Really, little children, you must learn to grow out of it. And in the books he wasn't NEARLY as much a hopeless dunce. They dumbed him down just so they could give Hermione more grrl-power time! Where'd that Ginny Weasley bimbo get in? Ron was ...

My wilder HBP suspicions (non-spoilery, of course) - just revised! - Steeple Warlock

Wed, Jul. 13th, 2005, 07:37 pm. My wilder HBP suspicions (non-spoilery, of course) - just revised! Well, I thought that my last hope of posting HBP predictions and arguments disappeared when my computer gave up on me yesterday, although I knew, of course, that it was already too late, since all sorts of spoilers are (now) already out. So please don't reply with any spoilers, if you "have" come across any! Is that the secret of the Irish team's success that season? Not that Krum need have been under contr...

Nip and Tuck - Spleen Squeezin's

Why can neither side can let rest what was already decided in blood and bullets? Good gravy. Where else in the world can you fly the flag of a defeated rebel movement over publicly-funded buildings as well as state and local capitals over 100 years after their movement lost the war they started?
