Right now we are in Quito, where we are volunteering as teachers in English and computer science. But let's move four weeks back in time, when we arrived in Ecuador. J&F 2007 - Discovering South America. January to June 2007. From Huancayo to Huanchaco. There we stayed one full week volunteering at Tinkuy Peru ( http:/ www.tinkuyperu.com/. Huanchaco is a laidback surfer village with stunning sunsets on the Pacific Ocean. The particularity of the village is that for centuries its fishermen have built small boats made of thin bamboo to go fishing. Nowadays, they offer tourists adrenaline rides surfing on the waves. J&F 2007 - Discovering South America. January to June 2007. A weekend in Rosario. Friday night, Irene and Lelio took us for a city tour and then to a local parilla (traditional restaurant) where we tasted excellent Argentinian meat and wine. That night I also got a new name: Mark. You can have a look at the photos from that weekend in the section called “our latest photos”. First week in Buenos Aires. One week in Buenos Aires and we are already fluent in Spanish! J&F 2007 - Discovering South America. January to June 2007. In the footsteps of the Incas. Greetings from Cusco, Peru! We have already been in this country for three weeks. Obviously there are too many things to do and see here since you have not heard from us until now…. The Peruvian mountains are full of colors (indigenous people dressing in very colorful clothes), music (folklore and pan flute everywhere) and history (heard about those famous Incas? The sad thing is that there are also many children s...

J&F 2007 - Discovering South America. January to June 2007. In the past few weeks we have had the chance to appreciate the 3 different faces of Ecuador. With its tropical Pacific coast, its Andean valleys and its Amazonian jungle, Ecuador is truly a diverse country, perhaps even more than the other countries we have visited. Allowed to travel much as well. But not to worry, nothing happened to us during our stay in the jungle and it really was a brilliant experience especially for viewing so much wildlif...
