When we bought it several years ago, it was a complete ruin; many properties in rural Galicia are in a similar state. It took twenty months, but we did all the work on the house ourselves, so we know exactly how much work goes into a restoration project, how much it really costs, how long it takes and how to do it. Self sufficiency in Galicia. Tuesday, 21 June 2011. We always enjoy a visit to Samos, it is on the Pilgrim route and has a large Monastery situated beside a river as many monastery's are. It was nice to see that the goose population had increased we are assuming that they have had young.
