The Melanson Family: Election Results
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/11/election-results.html
Here is the speech that he gave:. I’m glad to be able to talk to you today so you can vote for me for class representative. Why should you vote for me? I'm not sure where he got the "folks" part from. He was funny, because he first wrote "if I get elected" and then he said, "No, I should say WHEN.". I mean seriously, he brings his homework every Friday, why not vote for him? He made this awesome poster with these funny faces he is always drawing. Even dead guys vote for Luke"-Dead guy. The Melanson Family: 1st Band Concert
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/1st-band-concert.html
Allie had her first band concert last night. It was incredible! This was the 6th grade band at her middle school. There are just under 400 kids in the band. The concert was in the gym and the band took up the whole basketball court. There are 9 French Horns. NINE! This is definitely one of the things we like most about Texas. Most of the kids just barely started learning their instruments at the end of August so I think the fact that they they could play anything was amazing. Kate likes to photobomb.

The Melanson Family: Tree decorating
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/tree-decorating.html
On Sunday, we decorated the tree. Instead of snow or rain falling outside, we got a beautiful sunset and warm temperatures. Seriously, will I ever be able to get a decent picture of the kids together? Well, at least they portray our "real" life. Okay, so this is funny. Luke and Allie pulled out this ornament with a picture of them when they were little. They thought it was hilarious and wanted to pose like the picture and have me take a picture of them. Man, they've grown up! December 19, 2012 at 10:34 PM.

In case you don't read "2nd Grader" here is what is says:. Pleeeease can I have a lizard when we move, pleeeease? Even for himself. He was so busy in the army he never voted. I look like James Monroe! I told her most people wouldn't know what James Monroe looked like so she would probably be okay. Allie's speech that she gave (in character! Soldiers, welcome to the U.S. Army. Let me introduce myself. I am Zachary Taylor, brigadier general and the 12. President of the United States of America. Luke is pre...

Okay, so I know this picture is blurry- it's because I was laughing so hard. I was taking the kids' picture for a project and thought I would try this fancy pose that I saw the photographer do. Apparently Kate thought she was going to be dropped. Here's what she looked like on night 1:. And her is what she looked like on night 2:. Even Kate got to play Rockband! Kate helping me make "pancakies" after dressing herself. Those are her two favorite skirts so she went with the ingenious plan to wear them ...

The Melanson Family: Flag Football-Raider Nation
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2013/04/flag-football-raider-nation.html
With the basketball season ending, Luke had no sport! His buddy down the street plays on a team and his dad is the coach so they invited Luke to play with them. It's a new experience- he hasn't had a lot of exposure to football. He is learning quickly. Looking tough-you have to do that in football I think. Going in for the flag. Amazingly, this is a pass that he caught with that guy right in his face. Going for the run. This was exciting- he got an interception! A natural at all sports huh?

We went to Kate's preschool Christmas program. Kate couldn't see us, but kept waving. I'm just glad she wasn't the one picking her nose. Kate was a cow. Eating cookies with Kate's preschool friend that she likes to chase the girls with. Allie and Kate taught a Christmas family home evening lesson straight from Allie's pillow and the scriptures. We made some cookies for Santa. And ate lots of sugar. Allie hosted a pictionary party. It has been a fun filled vacation! Waiting for the train. Subscribe to: Po...

The Melanson Family: Backpack check
http://themelansonfamily.blogspot.com/2012/09/backpack-check.html
This is what I found when I was emptying Kate's backpack after her first day of preschool. It's a dead fly in a baggie. She put it in there without me knowing to bring to school to show everyone. That wasn't quite the first impression I wanted to make with her teacher. I guess she might as well get to know Kate right away. The funny thing is that Kate denied it at first and said that Allie put it in there! Here's part of our conversation:. Me: Please don't bring dead stuff to preschool anymore.
