A Brief History of Gamage Shipyard and the Area. The rounded peninsula that is today the Gamage Shipyard and Marina stands has been a prominent South Bristol landmark for more than 250 centuries. Native Americans made extensive use of the Bristol area, often visiting what we now call the Gut as they traveled up and down the coast. The shipyard property’s exceptionally accessible location certainly would have drawn them and most likely even served as a seasonal camping site. The A and M Gamage Shipyard.

Gamage Shipyard is about 10 miles down the peninsula from Damariscotta, Maine. It’s a beautiful drive, too! Getting to Gamage Shipyard is part of the pleasure, as you’ll be cruising in the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cruising grounds. Once you enter the Damariscotta River, leave the entrance to Christmas Cove to starboard, and continue to nun #6 (approximately 2 miles). Bear to starboard to enter the South Bristol Gut. Our marina and docks will be to port.

Thanks to recent upgrades and expansion, Gamage’s Shipyard offers you some of the newest yacht storage and repair facilities on the coast of Maine. The marina’s modern floating docks are easily accessible, and you’ll find our crew helpful and welcoming. 44-slip marina for boats up to 100 ft. long. 12 rental moorings for boats up to 60 ft. long. 17,000 square feet of indoor heated storage. 4800 square feet of indoor unheated storage. Outdoor storage for approximately 100 boats.
