http://gambiaglimpse.blogspot.com/2009/07/vacation.html
A Glimpse of The Gambia. I'll be living in a small West African Country called The Gambia for a year. This is my experience. Monday, July 13, 2009. Lori and I went on vacation last week. Lots of pool side tanning and eating out. Here are some pics of our week away. Our first night out. There was a hair dryer in the hotel so we took full advantage of that. This is the view from our room the only night we stayed at a hotel. A walk on the beach after breakfast. The colors were amazing. Love you, dear! July ...

My compound from the entrance. All of this gets swept in the morning. Getting water from the well at the garden. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Nate a...

Gambian Adventure: Enough
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010/07/enough.html
Thursday, July 1, 2010. Most days I feel like the women of MSC are going to do great when I'm gone, they'll continue on and have great success. Other days I realize there is still so much to teach them and I'll never fit it all in the time I have left. I fear that I didn't take the opportunities given to me to share Jesus with them. I think what if I'm the only way they will ever know and I didn't do enough? I hope and pray that God used me on some way that I have no understanding of. I LOVE YOU ALL!
Gambian Adventure: Field Trip
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010/08/field-trip.html
Monday, August 2, 2010. I'm so proud of the women and the work they have done over the last 2 years. I will miss them terribly. Today was a great way to spend time with them and let them experience a little bit of life out side of their everyday hard work here in the village. At McCeasar's Restaurant Waiting on lunch. Mariama enjoying some fried chicken. Rama.well I'm not sure :). Rama and Aja enjoying lunch. August 2, 2010 at 4:40 PM. 1st picture.Mariama is looking so cute in her hot pink I love it!
Gambian Adventure: May 2010
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Nothing Is Ever Free. 8221;, “yes”, I said, “well then today it is free”, he said. I couldn’t argue with that. So like I said just when you think there are still things for free you get knocked down a bit and end up paying twice for the next thing. I still appreciate the gesture of the man at the auto shop but unfortunately the action of the attendants has put a damper on my outlook. Saturday, May 8, 2010. Inspecting the first one. Thursday, May 6, 2010.
Gambian Adventure: Baobab Powder for Drinking
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010/07/baobab-powder-for-drinking.html
Thursday, July 8, 2010. Baobab Powder for Drinking. These first two pictures are from the Internet as surprisingly I don't have good pictures on my computer of the tree or the inside of the fruit. The inside of the fruit is typically sold in the markets here from rice bags and you buy it by the can. Locally the people will dissolve the fruit in water and then remove the red fibers and seeds from the drink, add sugar and sometimes banana essence and then enjoy this refreshing drink. Gambian Adventure: July 2010
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 22, 2010. Pictures from everyday life. I would love to have more candid shots of life here but unfortunately as soon as I pull out my camera I get swarmed and the kids want to pose and make funny faces. I need a telephoto lens so I can hide and get better shots :) but these will have to do for now. Alieu and Nyima like to climb the wall on the front of my porch. He is just the cutest. When I say Alieu he says Auntie Serray and I just love it. Pabi, Mauttie, Senny, Yankuba, Mola and Alieu.
Gambian Adventure: June 2010
http://dollinafrica.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Ok so I know it's been a long time since I've posted but I have been busy so I will post as soon as I can. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Snow, Football and Michael Jackson. Abajie is making it snow! Mariama is creating a blizzard for Fatou. A little while later Abajie came up to me and asked me where the snow was. I looked around and realized there wasn't a bit of it left on the ground. I guess it was just too hot :). Pirang is the yellow team. We got there ...
