Help Us, Help Them! Thus far, The Gambian Conservancy has been reliant upon private sources for funding. However, given the amount of work that needs done in Kwinella, TGC is reaching out to secure new sources of funding including governments, international organizations, foundations, personal contributions and memberships. Since TGC operates with very little overhead most of the money received goes directly to our various projects.

Since its founding, The Gambian Conservancy has been working in two small villages up river - villages that are normally beyond the reach of many organizations. Although presenting a great challenge, TGC has many accomplishments to its credit. The following are examples of the types of improvements that the villages reached thus far have benefited from:. The Gambian Conservancy is a non-profit NGO whose primary mission is to work in mutual cooperation with the people of The Gambia toward the creation of sustainable development in various communities. Our charter outlines several mission goals:. 1) The promotion of a higher quality life while simultaneously conserving, or even restoring, the natural environment will take place on a community-by-community basis and will be done with the complete understanding and agreement of the people in those communities.
