Menu Part Deux | Anurag's Game Dev Timeline
https://gamedevred.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/menu-part-deux
Anurag's Game Dev Timeline. Taking video games seriously. Very seriously. Last semester I Menu interface for use with the kinect system. Because it was built in a way such that the buttons and background scaled and positioned themselves automatically, it was rather easy to swap out the old buttons and introduce new ones. There was an added task of adding a credits screen. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).
It Works, But It Doesn’t | Anurag's Game Dev Timeline
https://gamedevred.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/it-works-but-it-doesnt
Anurag's Game Dev Timeline. Taking video games seriously. Very seriously. It Works, But It Doesn’t. So I think, well let’s try restricting the framerate. I do it such that Force is applied only after 16ms. I was hoping that would fix any problems caused by delta time. But that did nothing. As a last ditch effort, I thought of making the Update completely independent of delta time. So I moved all my code into FixedUpdate. And guess what, that fixed it. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ).
PointMapper v2 | Anurag's Game Dev Timeline
https://gamedevred.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/pointmapper-v2
Anurag's Game Dev Timeline. Taking video games seriously. Very seriously. We decided that game should have dual objectives: best time, and collecting coins. However, we wanted to make it such that you can’t do both at once, to add to the replay value of the game. So we came up with splits, points where the track diverges into different sections. A new piece meant that an addition needed to be made to the PointMapper tool. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Tools Programmer | Anurag's Game Dev Timeline
https://gamedevred.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/tools-programmer
Anurag's Game Dev Timeline. Taking video games seriously. Very seriously. Our track is made of different pieces such as straights, ramps, curves, and splits. A straight needs only 2 points, while a curve needs around 8 along it’s center. Generating the points for the track pieces was easy enough. Just use it’s center and have two points offset by its half length. The curves were more of a challenge. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Round Karma Development Blog. November 3, 2011. Silly Houses is the name of our game.We want to pose the question of why make a house out of only straw, wood and bricks?
