Steam, Steel and Torpedoes: October 2014
http://steamsteelandtorpedoes.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Steam, Steel and Torpedoes. Wednesday, 15 October 2014. I've been a bit lethargic of late, not able to stir myself to do anything even though I have a list of jobs (both domestic and hobby related) to get on with. A post from Tradgardmaster on his blog gave me a nudge, so today I got into the garage for a bit of woodwork, starting a log box for son number ones birthday at the end of November. So much for that. Steam, Steel and Torpedoes: June 2015
http://steamsteelandtorpedoes.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Steam, Steel and Torpedoes. Tuesday, 9 June 2015. Who's on holiday (9) and back home. We had a great time with friends, plenty of sights to see, beautiful scenery, I tried out my schoolboy french, and that's it till next year. There were some complaints about the travel arrangements! Tom Who - I've heard of travelling steerage, but going by carrier bag is ridiculous. Pat Who - At least Bill got the occassional trip in a pocket or camera bag. Caravan next time, so we may get lucky. Monday, 8 June 2015.

Land of the Lead: October 2014
http://landofthelead.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 21, 2014. 28mm Achaemenid Persian Heavy Cavalry. The first unit of heavy cavalry for my revamped Ancient Persian army. I normally don't make cavalry units this large but they just seem to befit this type of army. They are from Foundry but I think they have been rebadged as Casting Room Miniatures for their eBay site. They are larger than the older, Perry designed range but they still look pretty good and larger is acceptable for heavy cavalry. Hope you like the pics. Looking at the the g...

Land of the Lead: March 2015
http://landofthelead.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 28, 2015. Here is a selection of minis that I have painted over the last few months. Above and below are some 20mm Minaron Spanish Civil War Nationalist infantry. This is a 28-30mm early medieval mounted command group. The General is a Mithril mini (Theoden) and the standard bearer is the GW Lord of the Rings Aragorn. A really old Minfigs that I have had for several decades. I decided it was time I painted him. Quite a large figure, at least 28mm. An ugly brute - 25mm scale. It was a good...

Land of the Lead: December 2014
http://landofthelead.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2014. Hope you all had a great Christmas. Some additions to an Old School Wood Elves army I am putting together. Three Treemen and a Treeman lord - "Durthu". The Wood Elf archer was included as a scale reference. As someone who has never painted 'monsters' before, I was surprised how much I enjoyed doing these guys. Something like 4 days from start to finish. It was fun to experiment with various washes and building up shading and texture. Hope you like the results. Subscribe to: P...
