Location and It Self. Maduganga (ganga is Sinhalese for river) is situated in Balapitiya, along the country’s southern coast, within the Galle District of the southern Province of Sri Lanka. It opens to the Indian Ocean approximately 34km north-west to the city of Galle. That is 83km away through the galle road from capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo (nearly 3hours drive from Colombo).
