Tuesday, 26 April 2011. Day 5 (Church Camp to Long Balaban). Once we massaged the rigor mortis out of our bodies a happy, almost delirious mood spent over the camp. We had conquered the highest peak in Sarawak. We were heading home, and the rest of the journey was largely downhill. The flowing sound of the Long Balaban River was urged us as onwards and we moved closer to our final basha camp. Despite another solid seven hour day, we reached the idyllic river side camp in fine spirits. Follow me on Twitter.

Day 6 and 7 were fun and positively gentle after our previous efforts and we skipping our way joyously downhill and ever closer to home. There was a no rain, our packs were lighter, and we thoroughly enjoyed all seven dramatic river crossings. We joked and sang all the way to Philip’s blessed house.
