Thursday, May 10, 2012. Parts made from stolen things. I've been pretty busy in the garage over the past week. Here's what I did. I'm sick of seeing every XS650 chopper/bobber with a standard solo seat with springs, so I want to make my own flush mounted seat. Here's the template I made out of poster board. Here it is, all cut out and the edges sanded smooth. Then I bent it to shape. I want a seat with thick padding and some back support so it is comfortable for long rides. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Well with the somewhat warmer weather, I'm more motivated to work on the bike. I'd like to be able to put some miles on it this summer, so I gotta get working. I got some Golden Dragon to motivate me. Here is the original rear brake stay. I put it on to figure out where I need to weld a tab to the frame to mount the stay. Been busy with the holidays, and haven't been able to get any work done, but since I had today off I was actually able to make some progress. Here it is tacked together.
