So much has happened since I last got around to write a post that its hard to know where to start. Anyone who has been following this blog would of already known of my big move to distant lands, but before I get down to writing about that I feel I need some closure. So for this post, I thought a little tour of my old garden would be appropriate. One of my favorite corners.

Adventures in Gardening under the Coconuts of the Caribbean. Taste of Britain Store. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. One of my children's most watched films is 'The Lorax', based on the book of the same name by the famous author, Dr. Seuss. It is a fable chronicling the plight of the environment as the 'Oncer-ler', a character representing corporate greed, strips the land of natural resources for production of a 'Thneed'. Adventures in Gardening under the Coconuts of the Caribbean. Taste of Britain Store. Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Damn good plants - Illicium floridanum, Purple Anise. I first encountered this shrub when a customer presented me with a photo of an evergreen shrub, much like a Rhododendron. But with deep crimson star-like blooms. Some how we managed to name this plant as a Illicium. Rare white flowered form. Don't be fooled into thinking of consuming it as its highly toxic. Nodding dark red flowers appear f...

Well, California's Monrovia Nursery has come up with a solution. In 2009 they coupled up with a giant of the horticultural world, Dan Hinkley. Here are just a few that I've been fortunate to lay my hands on;. Hydrangea angustipetala 'Golden Crane'. Monrovia - Dan Hinkley. Monrovia - Doreen Wynja. Another Hinkley plant that hooked me by its charm is Cestrum.

Adventures in Gardening under the Coconuts of the Caribbean. Taste of Britain Store. Monday, July 29, 2013. Thinking outside of the Zone - Part 1. Tree Treasures of Emeralds and Silvers. George Mallory was once asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest so much, his response was because it was there! Sadly his quest ended on the high slopes of Everest, but it's fair to say that us human beings enjoy pushing the envelope and its no different in the garden, albeit safer. Myself with Panama John next to.

However, Nevis just like all the other islands is more diverse than just sand and sea. So let me take you on a little tour of our Rock! The cloud co...

Adventures in Gardening under the Coconuts of the Caribbean. Taste of Britain Store. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Back from a Break! Where does time go? I recently had to put the 'Blogging' thing on the back burner so I could concentrate on preparing for a talk, followed shortly by a TV appearance. Now, I'm realizing that more than a month has gone by since I put pen to virtual paper and need to climb back on the Blogging Horse again. So until my next post, .party on Wayne!
