A beginner's foray into the horticultural universe. Bird Feeder in Our Backyard. May 7, 2014. Hi there Blogging World! We are on vacation in beautiful Carmel and have left our garden to the whims of nature for a few days. My fingers are crossed that all my lovely plants are surviving. A couple of weeks ago Miss Toddler and I put up this bird feeder, which has finally been accepted amongst our local bird population. I snapped this shot of the new bird feeder with our backyard in the background. 8216;Subve...

You are not useless, but the society that tells you so is | honeythatsok

10 Steps to a Sustainable Life. Stories we tell ourselves. Published on October 2, 2013. You are not useless, but the society that tells you so is. I think what makes me the most sad to read on my Facebook feed is not the stories about how corrupt and useless politicians and corporations are. I already know that, most people know that. But to see how cruel and heartless ordinary people can be in the comment fields underneath these stories is depressing. Collectively, older people always fear younger gene...

Brown thumb status continues… | Confessions of a Brown Thumb

https://confessionsofabrownthumb.wordpress.com/2016/10/13/brown-thumb-status-continues

Confessions of a Brown Thumb. Brown thumb status continues…. October 13, 2016. I have a confession to make… I still don’t know what I am doing in the garden department. The winter proved a difficult one, with leeks, onions, garlic and shallots all being attacked by black aphids. The were completely covered by them! Gone Gardening | Confessions of a Brown Thumb

https://confessionsofabrownthumb.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/gone-gardening

Confessions of a Brown Thumb. January 9, 2015. I have been so excited about my flourishing garden that I haven’t had time to even think about blogging. I think it has shown me that my true love is being outside, and not sitting at a computer desk – which I am doing more and more now that I am back at work part time. Our cucumbers have been a big success too with 20 fruits being grown already. They are so yummy! Tomatoes and basil have also grown prolifically, however the tomatoes have been slow to ripen.

Confessions of a Brown Thumb. September 18, 2014. Six months ago, I was reading, longingly, all the blog posts of fellow gardener/bloggers in the Northern Hemisphere as their gardens, and seemingly their lives, were in full bloom. Garden Geeked

Discussing the things that I love. Gardening, running, music, nature and technology. Sunday, March 24, 2013. In years past, I have started my seeds using those peat pellet kits you get at most home stores. You know the ones that come with a tray and a clear plastic dome to simulate a green house? I will continue to share my ...
