Curb Appeal – gardeninacity
https://gardeninacity.wordpress.com/2015/08/12/curb-appeal
Notes from a wildlife-friendly cottage garden. August 12, 2015. The front garden is the one thing that really brings out my exhibitionist tendencies. I want it to grab the attention of people walking or driving by. Front garden seen from the street. Late summer is one of the times when the front garden has its greatest visual impact. Some of the blooms of mid-summer become even showier and more prolific. A closer look at the Driveway Border. At the back of the Front Island Bed, flowers even more profusely.

Notes from a wildlife-friendly cottage garden. August 13, 2015. My Summer Containers for Sun: Meh. The good news is that I continue to gain useful experience on how to put together summer containers for sun. The not-so -good news is that this year’s containers are pretty unsatisfying. Containers on the steps to the front door, with Salvia ‘Evolution’ at the top. Cigar Plant at the top of the steps on the other side. In a couple of containers at the top of the steps on the right, then one Cigar Plant (.
A Frond Indeed – gardeninacity

Notes from a wildlife-friendly cottage garden. May 17, 2015. A few years ago I removed the foundation planting of yews that were in front of my house and replaced them with Ostrich Ferns (. Overall, I have been happy with the switch, though it leaves the front of the house bare for several months of the year. A foundation planting of Ostrich Ferns. Right about now the Ostrich Ferns have completed unfurling. They stand nearly 4 feet tall, and they will keep stretching upward for a while yet. I say “...

Just a girl with a hammer: August 2014
http://www.justagirlwithahammer.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
My Mighty Life List. Friday, August 15, 2014. Garden bloggers' bloom day, August 2014. I have friends, friends who don't garden, who ask me, "What's new? What have you been up to? The kids from three doors down wander by and I mutter, "Look at how the bumbles keep to the agastache while the honeybees feed on the sedum. And I don't even know what these tiny guys are on the tithonia." They no longer like talking to me because they are teenagers now and also, I'm rambling about bees. Two years ago and it pr...
Just a girl with a hammer: Why I love Yard Rents and craigslist
http://www.justagirlwithahammer.com/2012/04/why-i-love-yardrents-and-craigslist.html
My Mighty Life List. Monday, April 9, 2012. Why I love Yard Rents and craigslist. It was sunny this weekend! I'm so full of love and Vitamin D right now. I had been holding off on reserving a sod cutter for the weekend to see if the weather was actually going to be dry, so I got the 2-4pm delivery spot from Yard Rents. So with just 45 minutes (and a sprinkling of mulch) we went from this:. And I got two responses. By the next afternoon all of these were gone. We went to brunch and came back to an...I bor...

Master Gardener, amateur photographer, intermediate quilter and lover of day trips around New England. Writing, Photos, Reviews. Silent but happy Sunday →. August 13, 2015. This door is from our time spent in Bruges, Belgium. It’s massive, has a smaller door within for easy access, nice strapping hardware, lines in the wood, and the huge wreath tops it off. And, it sits behind an iron gate. I love this door because I can let my imagination run wild thinking about what is behind it. So bright and pretty!

Talking to Plants: July 2015
http://talking-to-plants.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Gardening in Zone 4 in central Wisconsin. Friday, July 24, 2015. My Pink Princess House. My deck catching the dappled morning sun filtered by the 'Crimson Frost' birch. A great place to be until about noon. It gets full unrelenting sun the rest of the day. In about five years though, there will be shade from the then 20 year old sugar maple. Seeing me, she commented that they loved walking by my house. It was their favorite. House in the whole village,. The pink chairs, the flowers, its being pink itself.

Jumaat, 18 Februari 2011. TIME HAS PASS US BY. Its a long time. this blog does not have long crossed by such stories. Not also because by anything, maybe a bit of work constraints.
