Gardening-4-Life: Keyhole Gardening
http://gardening4life.blogspot.com/2011/06/keyhole-gardening.html
When Gardeners garden, it is not just plants that grow, but the gardeners themselves Ken Druse. With world hunger and a need for local food production, teaching gardening skills to starving people is a must. I try to envision trying to garden with what I have around me only in the process. In the U.S. we have the luxury of garden centers, nurseries and basic clean running water. I would like to build one of these myself. This video is one being built in Uganda. Monday, June 20, 2011. Gardening-4-Life: Morning Garden Buzz
http://gardening4life.blogspot.com/2008/07/morning-garden-buzz.html
When Gardeners garden, it is not just plants that grow, but the gardeners themselves Ken Druse. To look at our lawn now, its hard to find good green grass. With no rain to speak of for nearly a month our lawn in suffering. The only true green grass is around our septic sprinklers. Which I will have to talk later about some interesting analogies I have about that. :). I love Morning Glories. :) Yes, they are aggressive, but you just can't beat the beautiful shade of blue! Look at my bumblebee! View my com...
Gardening-4-Life: Freezing Berries
http://gardening4life.blogspot.com/2011/06/freezing-berries.html
When Gardeners garden, it is not just plants that grow, but the gardeners themselves Ken Druse. Blackberries have been coming in a little each day over the past week or so. Its not been enough to make jelly or a pie yet. An easy way to preserve berries is by a term called flash freezing. Thursday, June 16, 2011. June 16, 2011 at 9:41 AM. I love to flash freeze blueberries, easiest of all. Hope mine havent all dried up on the bushes by the time we get home to E. Texas this weekend! June 16, 2011 at 8:37 PM.
Gardening-4-Life: Cinder Block Garden
http://gardening4life.blogspot.com/2011/05/cinder-block-garden.html
When Gardeners garden, it is not just plants that grow, but the gardeners themselves Ken Druse. I recently received a comment about my cinder block garden that made me realize I need to elaborate the "why" I chose to use them. Truth is, I have many so I'll try to explain a few. 1) Years ago, I read "Herb Gardening in Texas" by Sol Melter. There are several illustrations in this showing. 3) Flexibility in design. That sounds really strange when talking about concrete, but I often compare the blocks to...

. . Garden Truffles .: February 2009
http://gardentruffles.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 14, 2009. Isn't it odd how difficult getting started can be . And yet how easy a task is once we get started? Garden is that way for me; I have to find a rhythm of activity. Because right now (and usually again in June and October), when I walk through them, I am overwhelmed with ideas and tasks — and despair. However, writing is the first step toward accomplishing my goals. And blogging seems to be a sure path to my gardening goals! Mark areas for bedding plants; determine plantings.
. . Garden Truffles .: March 2008
http://gardentruffles.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 21, 2008. A picture is worth a thousand words . This image presents the status of my garden. Bits of newspaper (my son's Golden Retriever pup .) and other various items needing to be cleared (leaves, tumbleweeds and dead foliage). But it is. My garden and it sprouts bits of color and life within me! Mostly, I am country gardener. No cover photos on Martha's magazine . Just a delightful respite for me to design, experiment and dig in the Oklahoma dirt! And mine is still partying!
